Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Merchant City is a district in the East end of Glasgow.
Merchant City is full of designer boutiques and stylish cafés in the former warehouses of Ingram Street and the Italian Center. There are fine bistros serving Scottish, Indian and Mediterranean cuisine scattered around the area, while the renovated 18th-century buildings house bars and pubs. Very interesting and beautiful part of the city. It is impossible to be in Glasgow and not visiting The Merchant City.

Shocking customer service and lack of communication. They are trying to force a group of 11 individuals from different households to still come to Glasgow even though multiple people sharing a room. Haven’t even pushed for a refund as a small business but they won’t even transfer the booking to next year and basically said...’we will keep your money and nothing you can do about’. Hung up on phone call to us and refuses to come back on email. So unreasonable and especially when we are offering them the ability to keep our money but simply transfer to next year when allowed to come. Their answer was ‘we don’t care you are 11 individuals, just stay away from each other’ - really embracing their moral and ethical duties at the moment. Annoyingly we want come but not allowed under new regulations. Avoid them at all costs - makes you realise what the standard of the stay was going to be like if this is their lack of care!!!

My friends and my husband have booked hotel on 9th July 2015 for Friday 28th for one night we have told them three guide dogs will be with us. Then they decided to let us know we had to cancel our booking because of guide dogs, they said because they did not have facilities for the guide dogs, sprial stairs, then they said they are not covered health safety, we explained they cannot refuse any guide dogs, then they said they don't allowed PET dogs, but Guide dogs are NOT pet, they are mobility aid to help for blind. They have changed the stories, I have shotscreen proof! They have broken law under equality act 2010! Guide dogs was involved and told me their attitudes was very appalling! then we had to cancel then found somewhere else in such of short notice! will never use this hotel - TERRIBLE!!!!

Plenty good quality bars and eateries and being located close to the city centre well worth a wander - get a taxi because street parking can be hit and miss the area tends to be pretty popular day or night

Lots of restaurants and good shops - would be nice if this could be extended to High Street and Saltmarket as this area seems to be neglected.

The Merchant City continues to thrive with many great restaurants and now a few quaint shops popping up. Also very close to the main shopping areas of Argyle Street and Buchanan Street with less hustle and bustle. Great during the Merchant City Fertival.

I don't know what special about this place in Glasgow? Very overrated, except boring cafes and restaurants.
