While there are lots of cute shops and restaurants and cafes, it seemed sort of dodgy at night. Lots of homeless people hanging out in dark corners.

Isn't the West End, but a contender! Great bars, cafes, restaurants and rental apartments. It’s great for a self contained weekend away where everything’s stumbling distance.

A great variety of bars and restaurants to eat and drink in. Good during the day for a spot of lunch and watch the world go by. Good a night for drinking and socialising.

Merchant city is compact, full of buildings of architectural importance and populated by lots of good restaurants and coffee shops. It won't take you long to explore but definitely worth a visit when in Glasgow

I was staying with my daughter who has a flat in Merchant City. This part of Glasgow gets better and better. Good shops, great bars, excellent restaurants with something for everybody. Cannot wait to get back.
