We set off to visit the cathedral without any knowledge of this amazing cemetery. So our first, unexpected view was of the dramatic shapes of the monuments silhouetted against the skyline of the hill. Approaching through a magnificent gateway then over a handsome bridge, this place is a testament to the wealth, aspirations and pride of the Victorians. Wide pathways... More

Time is so valuable but we never notice. Good to take your friends who forget about their close ones while being too busy with their life.

Lovely for a walk with friends. Some beautiful tombs and gravestones. Best time to go would be spring there is some gorgeous cherry blossom trees.

We had lunch at the Drygate nearby then walked it off around the Necropolis, our second visit. Weather was cold but clear and made for some stunning panoramas across to the cathedral and city skyline. Well kept and not too crowded.

Came herr with a family on a cold evening, however really enjoyed it. This place felt so sacral and mysterious, there were many people taking pictures from the top with a view.of Glasgow

Before you even go into the place you are confronted with a skyline of memorials to the great and the good, not to mention those who are weren't. The approach across the bridge from the cathedral is perhaps the best way top start, if only for the view. If you read some of the inscriptions you soon realise just how... More

Not everyone's cup of tea but a fascinating place to wander. There was a lot of money in trade and it shows! Sugar, Tea or even, slaves - Glasgow was an important place to die after a lifetime making you fortune. So show it. My wife grumbled at first! Not another Cemetery! But this one is different. Just a gentle... More

On visiting Glasgow cathedral we decided to also extend the walk & take in the Necropolis. Good move, well worth our time & effort. It's on a hill, which gives it excellent views over Glasgow.
