35Group tickets purchased and half were cancelled 24hours before show. !!!!!! No explanation as to why? Absolutely shocking. Moved our tickets to another night ( it must have been empty). How can you sell more tickets than you have seats ???? Requested a refund for tickets. Will see how long this takes to be returned. 😡

Attended a wedding here last week and it was amazing. Felt the drinks were a bit pricey but it is the city centre. Staff were very efficient.

Attended a wedding recently and was looking forward to making my first visit to the Trades Hall. Have to say I was a bit disappointed. The main wedding hall was “traditional” and quite nice and food was decent. Other than that it was all downhill. I didn’t see one member of staff smile. There is no actual bar. There is a crude “home made” type pretend bar charging extortionate prices. No draft beer just bottles in a big plastic barrel filled with ice but they still charge £4.50 for a bottle- what a rip off.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased to hear that you liked the venue and that the food was acceptable to you. Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of our venue, we are unable to install fixed, permanent bars in the rooms. This is something our clients are aware of when booking the venue as is the option to have draft beer. With regards to prices, these are price checked frequently with other similar establishments in the area and are aligned with them. The provision of fridges is something that our caterers are currently looking at. Thank you once again for your feedback and feel free to contact me on elaine@tradeshallglasgow.co.uk at any time. While not in George Square itself, the Trades Hall is still central and well worth a visit. I was lucky to attend a dinner given by one of the trades, the Incorporation of Builders, and so was priviledged to see the building "in action". It reflects Glasgow's mercantile and industrial past in a very elegant way.

What an amazing venue for a wedding! 120 covers and over 200 in the evening. Well looked after by Elaine and the staff. Great Glasgow history in this building - so much better than a stuffy formica type hotel.

A few minutes from Queen Street Station, this 18th century Robert Adam masterpiece is as stunning inside as out.
On Doors Open Day, the many visitors (including moi) were warmly welcomed and given tours of each palatial area including the Grand Hall and the Saloon which the famous John Keppie re-designed in the early 20th century. The carpet in the Deacon Convener's Suite did make me go green with envy !
Mrs Maltman, the Deacon Convener herself gave up time to show us parts of the building as did the Trades House member on the top floor who showed me round the exhibition area in the former 'school with a view'.
This ancestral home of the 14 medieval trades is still a Trade organisation but one which supports good causes within the City of Glasgow. All kinds of events are held here including the first class glass exhibition coinciding with Doors Open.
Their social media pages go into it all in detail and they are such lovely folk that I'm sure if you've come from afar and can't wait until the next Doors Open, you could contact them and make an appointment to view the treasures within.
