Brilliant museum of curiosities and an exhibit built around the genius of Kelvin. Who knew? The man was like DeVinci. Genius, creative, endlessly curious, inventive beyond measure. Worthy of a detour and one of our favorite attractions in Glasgow, tucked into a corner of the university, you’ve got to hunt a little to find it, but make the effort.

Set within the University, this is not the largest of museums but its collection of Roman finds from the area of the Antonine Wall is particularly fine

Interesting stop as part of the beautiful campus. Has some pretty unusual medical specimens, ancient finds, etc. Not a long stop but cool to visit.

Unmissable for fans of Rennie Mackintosh design, the museum boasts a recreated interior from his home, replete with furniture, ornaments and artwork. Next door is an impressive art gallery. The whole area adjacent to the Glasgow University is delightful

We went through the lovely entrance through the university and came to see the animal specimens they had. There weren't many but it was a lovely display and I particularly enjoyed the natural history illustrations on the walls.

Thanks for visiting us. We also have the zoology museum which is located in the Graham Kerr Building - full of animals and William Hunters bug collection - and access is free ! Well worth checking out !. We hope to see you again soon.

It's a museum located in the University of Glasgow, and it clearly started as a Victorian gentleman's curio collection. Nevertheless, it has a surprisingly broad collection of interesting items, somewhat randomly chosen, and is well worth an afternoon's stop.

This is a traditional museum but the building alone is worth a visit. Be warned, there are no refreshment facilities on the university campus at weekends.

Take all the tat out of it and start over. Absolutely awful. It’s a long schlep out of the city for nothing. Mostly old Victorian tat that they didn’t have a home for. Ooh look we found a mummy. Sling it in. And this old collection of medical instruments ? Few bits of bodies in glass bottles ? Yeah put em in a glass case.
Nice building. Nice little cafe nearby. Not well signposted. The zoology museum was shut , no one knew where it was. The art gallery was equally hard to find and was similarly a pile of second rate toot bought on a grand tour. A few good whistlers , but that is only good if you like whistler!
Avoid at all costs. Leave it to bored students. It’s all part of the uni campus. The best part was laughing at the clothes that were worn by the guests at a wedding that was being held on campus.
If you can’t afford to do it properly , make it into classrooms. Free except for Macintosh room which was too expensive at £8. Rubbish. I learnt more about CRM at the krlvingrove.

Thanks for your response. We take all feedback very seriously and value your opinion. William Hunter had a varied and eclectic collection, which we are only showcasing a small part of. I’m sorry however that you didn’t enjoy our offering on this occasion.

Some great pieces here, though surprised it's not as interactive as other museums nowadays. Also rest rooms were not clean and didnt have hand soap. Students on door more interested in their course than visitors. Dissappointed.
