I still think the gothic buildings are more of interest than the actual shops, mainly because the shops are overpriced as we visited it during Christmas.
It was nice to stroll along as the weather was mild for winter.
Very busy but had a lovely buzz about it. Clean with lovely shops. It didn't have too many tacky Scottish shops. Some very talented musicians were there and were great to listen to. Overall, a really pleasant experience.

there are some nice places to eat in merchant city too. You can try chaophraya, it's in buchanan street. also in buchanan galleries they have a section for sitting and eating, you can check that out too.
