We loved Brenda! Spent 5 days traveling through Scotland and had the best time. Our conversation about Scotland’s history and food was always enlightening. The best aspect of the tour was the flexibility! We completely changed our itinerary for the trip and Brenda never skipped a beat. Cannot recommend Tasting Scotland enough—this is the tour to take!!

My husband and I did a 5 hour walking tour of Glasgow with Brenda ending at the Willows Tea Room. Brenda has such a love for her city which showed in her descriptions of all the sites we visited. Ending at the Willows Tea Room was fantastic. Their high tea was delicious. I highly recommend Brenda of Tasting Scotland. You will love her and Glasgow or wherever your travels take you.

First weekend of June a nice food tour by tasting Scotland (Brenda). Together with my football team I enjoyed the special tour Brenda organized for us. 4 restaurants with good food, fusion Scottish kitchens. including a beer tasting. As cherry on top of the cake she took us to the Glasgow Rangers (Ibrox) Stadium. Nice way to visit Glasgow

Hello Maarten, Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. It is very much appreciated! We're glad you enjoyed your food tour with Tasting Scotland and of course as soon as Brenda knew you were travelling as a football team she made sure she incorporated a stadium stop. We're glad we could contribute to a special weekend away for you all and create some special memories of your time in Scotland. Until next time, keep scoring those goals!

we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our day out.

The directions were superb and we found it with ease. The advice for people who struggle with access requirements will struggle to get onto the island, as there are some steep steps and uneven surfaces, is 100% correct. We had no problems however.

On arrival Ian took us out on his boat and explained what we are looking to catch, but also throughout the trip he explained the local landscapes, area knowledge and also added some light hearted banter on the current UK economy and what happens with all the shellfish from Scotland.
We also witnessed ganets diving for mackerel, and also seals in the bay and basking on the rocks in the superb sunshine.
Ian explained the different types of shellfish caught, from langoustines to crabs, but also star fish and small cod. He was so knowledgable but also had no problems answering any questions throughout the trip. Quite the gentleman and testament to the way of life in the highlands.

After we went back on shore we had a plate full of crab ( unshelled ) which was freshly cooked from what was landed 30mins earlier, the crab was huge and we ( myself and my partner Holly ) shared it using forks, a small tool to remove the meat and also a cracker to break the shell.
For the main meal we shared 10 langoustines, again, freshly cooked and very large. Both dishes were absolutely beautiful and so fresh. The setting was superb, a small table overlooking the little bay with small cobble boats bobbing in the bay.
I would recommend this trip in a heartbeat, it was so nice to hear about Ian’s life, how locals make ends meet, and the local geographical area knowledge was second to none. We really liked that Ian explained how they try and catch the different shell fish and to finish off with the freshest dish from the catch was superb. We walked away with a big smile on our faces and will always remember the day.
Tasting Scotland ( Brenda ) was superb on all communication and advice, simply a 10/10 experience.

This was the second day tour I've done with Brenda and Tasting Scotland so I knew what to expect and Brenda didn't disappoint! We had an excellent foodie day around Fife and Saint Andrews. Again Brenda was an excellent host, her knowledge and passion for Scottish food along with her humour make for such an interesting and fun day. We'd ask for a day of coastal scenery and seafood and that was exactly what we got, in bucket fulls, couldn't have been happier. Brenda knows all the right people to arrange lovely little treats thoughout the day (dressed crab in Crail in the sunshine was magical) and provides just the right balance of food, activities and a wee drink or two ;) Would thoroughly recommend and we look forward to our next tour/trip with Tasting Scotland!

Thank you Rob for taking the time to write a review. It is very much appreciated. It was a triple pleasure for me in welcoming you back, meeting J and of course providing you with a food-lovers journey into a different part of Scotland. As we say in the World Food Travel Association 'Eat Well, Travel Better!. I'll have a gin raised until the next time (and will do that special sun dance the night before to ensure another beautiful day!).

What an amazing week! Brenda is an excellent guide and such a tremendous font of information. Our group of 10 enjoyed every aspect of our tour (some enjoyed the Scotch tasting most of all).

I hadn't ever given much thought to food in Scotland, beyond haggis and scones. I was so surprised then to be on the receiving end of some of the finest food I've ever tasted!

We so enjoyed our mini-tour of Scotland. The lodgings were wonderful and the history and beauty of Scotland were laid out before us.

Please give my best regards to all and I look forward to topping those whisky glasses back up again whenever the chance arises! Brenda

My husband and I booked a custom day tour as part of our first visit to Scotland. We chose from a list of suggested items from the website and specified that we were interested in the best of Scottish food (of course!) and beautiful scenery. Brenda was very friendly and helpful during the planning process and we were able to come up with an itinerary and travel schedule that worked for us. We had a wonderful time on the tour and came home with beautiful memories. Brenda was a great guide and very knowledgeable. The private tour experience is well worth the cost. Instead of a generic group tour, you get real depth and something much more personalized which makes for a richer experience.

First class presentation of the very latest trends on the SCOTTISH food scene. Delivered on the day we lost our best chef( Andrew Fairlie RIP) to cancer, Brenda’s style is very laid back , humourous , and above all , passionate.
For anyone interested in food , visiting SCOTLAND, this is a must.
