This has lots of shops, cafes etc, heavily student populated, worth a visit (especially for lunch). Not spectacular but OK

The First Minister should put her undoubted talents to cleaning up this place, litter everywhere, bins over flowing, rubbish occupying every nook and cranny! The place lets itself down severely! However, plenty of restaurants and shops on the Great Western Road (A82) and Byers Road....More

This is such a cool part of town. I totally enjoyed staying here, and walking up and down the streets. What a great place.

The West end is perfect for exploring some of the best bars and restaurants Glasgow has to offer. Lovely vibe in the West End and the sub makes getting into the city for bigger shops so easy. A great place to stay.

The heart is Buses road and it as everything you could want. Bars , cheese and meat shops, loads of restaurants and cafes and also a subway station.

The West End is easy to get to by bus or subway or walking & it is worth the time. It is a trendy, interesting pretty area. Highly recommended.

Hi, parking is not easy around the Botanic Gardens. You can park in Byres Road, if you are lucky enough to find a space. Some of the streets off Byres Road have parking meters which sometimes are quiet and very busy at... More

I wouldn't eat or drink in McDonald's as there are numerous coffee shops and tea rooms who would I am sure, make you a hot chocolate drink. We scots you know love to please.

The Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road is probably your best bet.
