Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently traveled with my husband and friends for 2 weeks in Scotland on a private tour. Our tour guide Tom took our original ideas about what we wanted to see in Scotland over this period of time, and showed us so much more than we could have ever imagined or planned ourselves! He created an itinerary that took us all over Scotland from Glasgow to Oban to the Isles of Staffa, Iona, Harris and Lewis. From Inverness to Sterling to Edinburgh . He booked all of our accommodations and made sure we had a plan for our meals during the day. Tom’s knowledge of history was extensive and his passion for Scotland was contagious! We traveled to places with spectacular views which we would not have seen on our own . As our guide and as a person, Tom was always professional , caring and flexible. Our group really connected with Tom which truly enhanced our experience and appreciation of this beautiful country. We had great fun and learned a lot as well. Thank you Tom! I will never forget this trip!

Tommy Docherty was a very knowledgeable guide who took us to see the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies in the evening. He gave us great photography tips and I would enjoy traveling with him again on another trip.

Touring Glasgow with Tommy Docherty (also doing tours as Gallus Tours Scotland) — a local who can stitch the city’s history, its culture, and its vistas into a seamless three-hour walk — is like a morning out with a close friend who is showing you about his town, all the while catching up. Excellent way to see the city!

Great day out in Glencoe with Tom - even the weather & light worked for us. Tom has a breadth of local knowledge to draw on for many parts of Scotland, knowing the best ‘out of the way’ locations for getting great photos.

He tailors the day to suit your needs based on your experience & expectations - I have far too many shots to edit now!

Great scenery, great knowledge & great company - thanks again.

There are not enough awesome things to say about this tour and Tommy himself.
Tommy's enthusiasm is at 110%. He truly loves what he does and it shows.
He knows the history of the places we went and the places we passed thru.
This is not simply a tour, its an adventure with your camera. It does not matter what type of camera you have. He gives the same treatment no matter the size of your camera or experiance.
I could not have asked for a better tour guide or trip. My photos show and my memories will forever be bright.
Until next time. Because there will be a next time!

Tom was an amazing guide for our family trip to Mull and Glencoe. He was extremely knowledgeable in the rich history of our destinations. He took so much care and attention to our needs and his deep love for Scotland was so evident. He was prompt and anticipated our needs extremely well. A wealth of great stories and charm. Communication was top notch from start to finish. Could not recommend Tom more highly!

Just completed two wonderful days of touring with Tom, who picked us up from the airport in Glasgow and drove us up through beautiful Glencoe to Portree on the Isle of Skye, and then toured us around Skye before bringing us back to Glasgow the next day. Tom was incredibly accommodating to our very tight schedule and jet-lagged family, stopping whenever we needed for restroom and food breaks. He has a master's degree in history and also leads photography tours, and so we learned so much about the picturesque places he took us to, as well as some tips to photograph them at their best! He also clearly cares about the quality of the places he recommends, and left us back in Glasgow with several restaurants to try, as well. Tom helped us begin our first visit to Scotland in such a fantastic way and we highly recommend him and Photo Walk Scotland.

Tom the Tour Guide! What a delightful guide. Took us to very where we asked and very knowledgeable, not just about history but also the local and current issues of Scotland. Also made some excellent suggestions which we followed up later in our trip. Cocoa Black in Peebles for example, fantastic!! Would highly recommend Tom for a day or a week!

Thank you so much for this lovely review. It was my pleasure to meet all three of you and share in your trip down memory lane (at least for one of you anyway). Our trip seemed to go so fast, but a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me. So glad it was for you too. Please give my best to the girls. Tom
