Hiring a motorhome from OpenRoad was an excellent expirience and helped us to fulfil our lifelong dream! Andy and John gave us important tips for our trip and made everything super easy for us.
In the beginning, John, gave us a very professional and thorough tour of the motorhome and he made us fill extremely comfortable and welcome. We will 100% be hiring again from OpenRoad. Hopefully very soon!!!!!

Andy was a great tour guide for our day trip out of Greenock. Knowledgeable guide and very approachable making us feel comfortable and welcome as soon as he picked us up from our cruise ship. Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you Andy and John for being so welcoming and helpful. Brilliant people to deal with, they made everything easy and were quick to reply with any questions during the trip. Amazing experience. Because the van ran perfectly, we got to experience Scotland without any worries. Would do it again, maybe in a few years!…

Andy met us at our cruise ship and told us a wonderful ride to Stirling Castle , a scenic ride through the countryside , lunch along the way and than a visit to Glengoyne distillery. We had a full day and returned as planned at our cruise terminal . Andy was great and hosted us for a full, great day.

Andy was terrific! We were a group of 3 couples out for a day tour in Glasgow. Andy was on time and the van was exactly what we needed. He is knowledgeable about the area and history. Loved every minute!

Before hiring a motorhome from Openroad Scotland, I was sceptical about seeing so many 5* reviews of theirvehiclesandservices. Now we understand. The vehicle was in mint condition. The care and attention we received from Jan and Andy was thorough and nothing was too much trouble to help make our holiday a success.
Any minor difficulties we came up against were simply down to our inexperience. By the way, if the vehicle you hire has two small spotlight reading lights over the bed at the back of the vehicle - the switch is a small button on the rim around the light. Now if that's the main difficulty in a fortnight's holiday it's no wonder they've been getting 5* reviews for years!
Thoroughly pleased to fully recommend them.

In one word, Awesome!! What can I say about open road. These guys know exactly what you want, and they deliver it. The customer service is 1st class. Andrew is brilliant from the moment you meet him until you drive away in these fantastic motorhome's. Absolutely blown away by the staff members to. These guys showed care and were genuinely passionate about showing us everything on the motorhome before setting off. Definitely an experience I will be doing again. See you soon Open Road.

Outstanding service. We were first time motorhome users , straight from the initial booking everything went better than expected, van was immaculate, fully stocked and everything was explained in detail until we were comfortable before driving away ( even got a call to say we could pick the van up earlier than our time slot ), spent 4 days in the north west of Scotland and to say the van was more than expected is an understatement , andy and john are very polite , professional and a delight to deal with . There were no hidden charges and I was blown away with how economical the f72 was on diesel . We will not be looking any further on our next adventure and will be recommending to all our friends .
We now have the motorhome bug .

I wanted to do something special for my wife’s 60th birthday and special it turned out to be thanks to Andy and John. From the moment I booked to the minute I dropped the van off the service was second to none.
Everything clearly explained in email with advice on getting to their location; I had asked to be picked up from Edinburgh and although they were happy to do it and could have taken a lot of money for the service, I was advised of cheaper options which were just as easy.
Checkpoint calls on the day to coordinate arrival times, everything was covered
We hired an Islander for a week in skye and it didn’t disappoint. Big enough for the two of us and small enough to get along some dubious back roads and really comfortable
If you are thinking of comparing this company with anybody remember that everything is included in the price, which is not the case with many others, in addition to that you can’t put a price on the care and attention these people provide.
Will we return to Skye? Yes
Will we use Open road Scotland again? Absolutely, wouldn’t even think of going anywhere else!
Thanks to both of you for a very memorable trip.

Highly recommended professional and friendly company. This was our second time hiring a motorhome from Open Road Scotland and we received excellent service again. Great welcome from Andy and Jon. The van was impeccably clean and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Really happy that the vehicles have no branding, makes a big difference. The Islander was perfect for two and handles really well on the single track roads. Loved Wester Ross and Sutherland, such a stunning part of the world. Spent the long drive home from Glasgow planning our next trip and will definitely use Open Road again. Thank you Andy and Jon.

I happened upon your web site on Trip Advisor and am contacting you in the hopes that you'll be able to offer some advice and guidance. My daughter is having her 30th birthday next month and has decided that she would like to see Scotland. I realize that we are trying to put this together on extremely short notice, and our options will probably be very limited, but as neither of us has ever been to Scotland before, I am at a loss as to where to even begin. We have taken the step of making flight reservations, and creating a list of what she wants to see and do. We arrive in Glasgow on September 17 at 6:55 AM. She would like to go to the Highland Games in Invercharron on Saturday, September 19. After that, she is primarily interested in the Highland scenery with maybe a distillery thrown in. We're looking to spend a week, more or less in Scotland.
Again, I would appreciate any input you can provide on how to make this happen, and I thank you for your help.

Hi Kathy, many thanks for your contact email. We can certainly put together a bespoke itinerary for you and your daughter for your visit to Scotland. We could build a tour based on your proposed visit to the Invercharron Highland games to also take in some days touring the stunning scenery of the north west highlands. You could perhaps bookend this with a stay in our capital city Edinburgh.
Our rate for this type of trip is £490 for full day driver guide service. All tours are guided either by myself or my partner at Open Road Tours Peter McShane who is a very experienced driver guide. Your vehicle would be an Volkswagen Shuttle SE which is a high end people carrier vehicle. Our VW's feature comfortable seating, panoramic privacy windows, air conditioned climate control and complimentary onboard water bottles and soft drinks.
If you are interested in discussing further then I suggest we have a discussion on the phone and I can get a better idea of what you require, before putting together a itinerary proposal.
