The course is indeed Run by the David Lloyd group, but not owned, it still remains the property of the local council, who again have leased it from Glasgow Council. The course was not designed by James Braid but by David Adams. The course is in excellent condition and if you buy a green fee, you will be made most welcome by the staff at the centre and you can enjoy tea coffee meal or a beer after your round. There is plenty public parking, but often full on Saturday mornings due to member clubs tee off times. (Deaconsbank G.C & Shaws Bar Golf Club)). The current course professional Scot Garrett will be only too happy to get you started and give you some tips before your round and arrange for you entry to the clubhouse where there are showers and toilet facilities at your disposal. Further reading can be found on search engine history of Deaconsbank Golf Course.…

I played here on a Monday at 5pm in July for only £11. I haven't played here for over 10 years and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the greens which I always felt let the course down in the past and missing flags with branches and a rag but nothing like that now. I was hoping to go to the driving range first to hit some balls but it was closed at the time. You also get access to the David Lloyd facility afterwards to get a coffee. Would definitely recommend this course as I live in East Kilbride and the council courses is nearly double so happy to travel the 20 minutes to play here and will be heading back soon.…

I have been playing this course, on and off, for 45 years. Since it was bought over by David Lloyd there has been a big improvement in the course. Not only are the tees properly marked and the flags being proper flags (before it was often just a stick) but the whole drainage has been immensely improved. In years gone by the course was a huge pile of mud, but now it’s mainly dry. The fairways and greens are well looked after too. In the winter months it’s£10 per round which I think is reasonable.…

Very pleasantly surprised at the improvements made to this course. Money well spent to upgrade the old course. Obviously the cost of a round has increased to reflect the upgrade.
