When I say that I have never had such personal gain from a climbing session it is a understatement, where do I start I have been climbing for 6 years but nobody would know it. Or so I thought, as usual I started the day making excuses why I would probably end up seconding. The day started working the route, confidently looking at The Climb and each feature of the holds for hands and feet while on top rope. He had seen confidence was low. Sam patiently took his time to remind me of how to move well thinking about climbing from an objective point of view. He asked me to explain what each hold was like, how do you use it? and plan what I was going to do next. I replaced 'cannot' with words like, ''try hard', 'steep' and 'small crimp'. Thinking about things that requires me to move fast through the section to the next good hold. Sentences like it's really hard here, changed to it's steep, get your feet up the next hold is good. There is a rest coming. Then we pre placed gear. It was nice having someone giving positive reinforcement continuously reinforcing. You are moving well, you're looking strong. Reminding me to use rests, move fast through the hard sections and slow through the easier sections. Then it came to leading. Leading on pre placed Gear was a first for me all of a sudden I was head pointing. I even took time jump off and test Gear. By this point although a little tired I climbed my way to the top of the route. It was E1. The first time I had attempted to lead an E1 although I had second many. Sam's words and positive linguistic training have stuck with me, I have started leading more often and working everything from severe to HVS. Sam you are a wizard.THANKYOU.

Super day out for my first try at scrambling. Sam is a really knowledgeable guide and looked after me the whole day. I wasn't 100% sure what to expect as I've not scrambled before, but Sam encouraged me to take it at my own pace. Sam picked an absolutely stunning spot with dramatic views, a varied day with 2 really different routes and beautiful scenery all the way. The heights were pretty exhilarating, but I was roped in the whole time and felt really secure. I'm really pleased with what I achieved and I can't wait to give it another go. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for an outdoors adventure.

I have had many adventures with Sam, from climbing, hill walking and scrambling. Sam has taught me a lot about the outdoors and is happy to share his wealth of knowledge. He is brilliant at tailoring your experience to your goals, making it an exiciting adventure whilst pushing you out of your comfort zone but remaining completely safe. I trust Sam 100%. Can’t wait for our next adventure!

Both me and the wife had an excellent day out sea cliff climbing. To my surprise it was me with wobbly legs befor absailing towards the water. However Sam picked up on this and really helped me get going. Definitely something every climber should try, the crashing waves were awesome. I would highly recomend a day out with Sam his knowledge and expertise of climbing and mountaineering are amazing. Thank you and hopefully see you again soon.

Myself and 2 friends climbed Ben Nevis, we used Sam as a guide. Sam was wonderful from start to finish, he was knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and guided us to the summit and made us feel super safe and informed at all times. All the way up the mountain Sam gave us valuable information and facts about the mountain and general safety talk. When we reached the snow cap, Sam surprised us with some valuable ice axe training, it was so much fun!! Sam had us sliding down snowy hills (safely) and stopping ourselves with our ice axes! Sams skills aren’t just limited to mountain guiding, he is also an outstanding photographer, please see photo below, courtesy of Sam! To summarise, having climbed many mountains, all over Europe and used many a mountain guide, Sam is up there with the best of the best and I fully recommend him, you will not be disappointed, trust me.
