Our visit up the mountain was well worth it for the stunning views we gained, but unortunately the funicular was still out of order and the onsite cafe/restaurant was completely over priced with a hot sausage roll costing £4.50! Despite this, the walk along the...More

The railway is closed so no easy route to the top. We aren't that fit so opted for a walk up the first rise beside the base station. Great excuse to use the legs. On the plus side, unlike using the railway, you can walk...More

The views are excellent from the Cairngorms. Shame the railway is broken at the moment but you can walk up if you are energetic. Limited snow but training school interesting to watch. Good latte at the lower café welcome.

Amazing View, even on a wet day! So windy which made the viewing platform fun. Lovely Starbucks up the top. Why not reward yourself with a cheeky coffee!

The views from the Mountain are fantastic. The venicular is broken at the minute so you have to make it to the top under your own steam.

When you visit Scotland you would expect politeness and a friendly reception from people in the tourist industry. We had a walk around Lock Morlich and then drove up to CairnGorm and went into the restaurant for a coffee. As we approached the girl at...More

Stunning scenery but we were disappointed that the funicular was out of service. We had hot chocolate to warm us through in the cafe but it was average and the cafe was cold and unwelcoming. The beautiful view from the window is currently blighted by...More

Having visited earlier this year we knew about the problems with the Funicular Railway but this didn't stop us having a very enjoyable walk up from the car park, even though there was snow on the ground and thick mist it was a pleasant walk,...More

If you take the train to the top you are not allowed to walk on the mountain. You have to remain at the café and viewpoint

You have to book a guided walk or walk up to be able to gain access to the mountain. If you go up by train you are restricted to the viewing platform at the top.
