About
Wolfburn is a multi-award-winning single malt whisky distillery located in the far north of Scotland. Building work commenced in 2012 and Wolfburn was reopened after some 150 years in early 2013. At Wolfburn we don’t have a visitors centre so when you visit you’ll see the inner workings of the distillery itself, where our master craftsmen make single malt whisky the way it should be made: with care and without haste. Tours finish with a tasting of our various malts, and there’s the opportunity to buy bottles and Wolfburn merchandise.

    Fantastic Tour
Fantastic tour experience! Wilma was our tour guide around the Wolfburn distillery and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was very in depth and gave a very close look at the different stages of whiskey making around the distillery, as well as a look around the cask warehouse. The tour included a tasting of 4 great whiskeys, and a whiskey tumbler to keep, making it great value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend!

    Tour of Wolfburn Distillery
Very interesting tour, from the History of distilling in the area through the distilling process yall the way to storing the barrels. Our tour guide Wilmur ( hope I spelt it correct) was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions thrown at her and made it interesting.I spoke to one of the lads called big Nick who also went out of his way to answer a few questions. To sum it up it was a good few hours

    Enjoyable tour
Thank you so much Wilma, my wife and I had a great experience at the distillery. You were welcoming, warm, funny and above all entertaining for the full 2 hour tour. I would thoroughly encourage anyone, whisky fan or not, to come and visit you. Loved it. Howard.

    Fantastic distillery and tour
Fantastic tour! There were five tastings. The drivers had a sample to send home. They explain how to make whisky. The casks are sherry and American Oak. A lot are from Tennessee. We went from Plockton to Skye to Eilean Donan.

    Such a great tour!
An amazing tour from Charlie! Very informative and great to see the distillery. The place is great and just outside the city centre of Thurso. Whiskey tasted great and was nice to try all of the different types they had.

    Wonderful Wilma
Brilliant distillary tour. Wilma our tour guide was knowledgable, friendly and gave interesting facts and information; not only of the distillary itself but also of the local and nationwide whisky industry. The distillary tour covered all aspects of the whisky process. We will be coming back with the rest of the family.

    Small distillery
This is a small distillery, so it is interesting to visit if you've previously been to one of the big ones to see the contrast. The tasting included some really lovely whiskys. My only complaint is that drivers just get one miniature to take away, so don't actually get to sample a range of drinks, which is the main point of doing a tasting. Offering drivers' drams would be better.

    Great tour well explained
Excellent visit escorted by a knowledgeable guide (Charlie) who explained all the processes including waste disposal. Tis was followed by a superb tasting session where the characteristics of each whisky was described including the effect of the different casks used in the maturation. A visit not to be missed

    Distillery Tour
Very good tour. Interesting to see how a new distillery starts up. Charlie was a great tour guide. There were 6 whiskies to try at the end - the designated driver gets a miniature bottle to take away. The designated drinker definitely gets the best deal though. Good way to spend a couple of hours.

Best whisky tour we’ve done so far!
We’ve done a few whisky tours and this one is by far the best one we’ve done! It’s good because you’re not just told how the process works, you actually see it and get to stick your head in and smell it! Lovely people too! Go, you’ll enjoy it!

This was a birthday surprise whilst doing the NC500 to see and experience the most Northern Whiskey distillery in the UK. And the fact that Wilma agreed to meet us when the distillery was closed was in itself such an amazing gesture. The tour was great, lots of of information and knowledge shown by our host. Love the ethos of the company. Local staff, local produce old fashioned way of doing things. 100% recommendation. And and special thank you to Wilma for taking time of of your day to make our day special.

A great experience and Charlie our guide really knows his stuff. We visited in November and it was cold in the warehouse but lovely and cozy on the shop floor. Up at the top of the stills was roasty toasty. In the end it was an expensive visit due to the amount of whiskey we bought. Wolf burn whiskey is a young whiskey but don't let this out you off as the flavours are incredible.

The only improvement that could be made would be the provision of small take away bottles for drivers who take the tour. That said drivers do get to pick a miniature free of charge.

There was no tour today because the distillery is being cleaned. But there was time made to provide me and my girlfriend explanations and to take a mini tour at the distillery. Super nice woman and nice to hear the thoughts and stories behind the brand!

Thank you very much for giving us the possibility and time.

Having visited quote a few distilleries this was the best experience. Our guide Wilma was enthusiastic, took all the time needed to explain the relatively recent history and process of the distillery. We have tasted 5 different whiskey's which were great. Our favorits were Northland and 458 small batch but that is personal.

This is a lovely small independent distillery where we could get up close and personal with the whole production process. We booked on a guided tour which turned out to be just 6 of us being taken around by the excellent Charlie. Very informative and easy going. The tour took just short of two hours and ended with the sampling of five of their whiskies (no samples for drivers, but given a miniature instead). There is a shop on-site too.

Great wee distillery in the far North of Scotland! Unassuming externally but these guys know what they are doing! Met with Jennifer at the visitor centre(!) and had a great chat with her th3en went to Warehouse ! to see our cask ad take a sample from it. Back at the Vc, tried the distillery handful and ended up spending a fortune! Well played guys :-). Great pace to visit and get involved with!

Very nice stop when driving the NC500.
Adapted very well to designated drivers ~ and designated drinkers … the designated drivers could pick a small bottle to take home … for the after driving hours.
