Although we didn't visit the castle we stopped for lunch in the delightful cafe. To sit and eat lovely food with such a great view over to Hoy was amazing.

2-3 Hours depending on whether you go to the Café for refreshments and of course oor lovely weather. I hope this was a helpful.
