My husband was wanting to research a famous ancestor and so he phoned the archives in advance. The archive is a new building near the airport and doesn't really look like an archive from the outside. When we got in all documentation about this man...More

Housed in a Carnegie Library, the archive center has a great deal of information about the Caithness area and it's history. It's the place to start if you are looking for information on family history

We were told by a local to pop in here as they would have the answer. Actually turns out they didn't because we wanted info on the 1700's timeframe. BUT..in saying that...you have to come here to check your ancestry because they do have LOADS...More
