We had one unplanned day in Inverness and last minute decided to book the three hour tour (coach from Inverness Bus Station, one hour cruise, one hour at Urquhart Castle before the coach took you back to Inverness). We had a slight bit of confusion at the bus station as our instructions stated we needed to show our confirmation in the bus station to get our tickets. The booth inside the station was closed for the season but one of the helpful bus station employees said we would just need to show the coach driver our confirmation. She was correct and it was smooth sailing from there.

Both our coach driver and the guide on our boat were fantastic. They were humorous and informative. All of the staff were friendly and engaging. When they recommend the Highland Hot Chocolate, you really should just say yes please :) The views from the boat were great and we appreciated having the guide to point out sights and history along the way. They also made sure you knew exactly how and when to catch the coach back to Inverness. The water was a bit rough from the weather but you wouldn’t know it on the boat. It was a very smooth ride.

We were really glad we made the time for Urquhart Castle. The ruins were beautiful and the history was very interesting. All in all we were very happy we made the time for the Loch Ness tour!

We booked the trip online and paid which was very easy and user friendly, the bus arrived at the bus station and there were about 10 people on the trip, very informative guide with lots of local knowledge. Had a while to spend at the castle and was plenty of time. Had a snack in the cafe at the castle and then met for the boat tour, very comfortable and again very interesting the highland hot chocolate was lovely, thoroughly enjoyed the day and the tour guides singing.

This was one of our favorite tours of our trip! What was included in our boat tour felt like a great value. We went through the Loch Ness visitor center, toured Urqhart castle, and then had a great boat ride along the Loch. I would definitely take this tour again and would recommend it to all my friends!

I did the one hour boat tour over the Loch from the dock near the Clansman Hotel. This was very good, given the fact there was a recent heavy storm I was glad they still were able to run my tour. The staff were friendly and the tour ran on time with a good running commentary of the history of the loch and of course a bit about Nessie. The boat was clean and quiet. There was an option to pay a bit extra to go to Urqhart Castle for a short tour but I just did the boat tour (didn't want to be late back for my bus back to Inverness city centre).

A definite tour to do just for the hour, its great to to sail down the loch and look at the stunning scenery if anything else.

If you haven't been to Loch Ness before, this is a great way to explore it, and the cafe and shop on site are large and efficient, although they shut at 4pm so if you are on the later cruise this may be a problem.
Make sure you book well in advance on their website as tickets are not available on site. Also, it is advisable to start queueing to board early to get the best seats.
We did the 2 hour trip, and we were very lucky with the weather, it was unusually hot and sunny, although it would still be well worth doing in more inclement weather. The commentary is interesting. Small children may be bored over 2 hours. Great trip overall

We took the tour that started with a bus ride, then the loch to the castle, then bus back to Inverness. There was a family with a toddler throwing a fit almost the whole time. The English gentleman driver showed supreme professionalism to keep his commentary going during the screaming. The views were beautiful, especially on the way back.
People, please don't bring toddlers on sightseeing buses. They are too unpredictable and will probably spoil it for everyone.

Well organised and did everything they could in respect to CoVid. I’d opt for the hour tour as this was plenty on the loch. A modern boat and a smooth ride. A good rapport with the customers and tour talk was really good - the young woman was engaging and told facts about the loch.

We are local to the area and just happened to be passing for a walk along the canal before the tour was leaving on Hogmanay, so we decided to get tickets.
The skippers were so friendly and great with my wee boy. The guide downstairs was great too and his Bonnie banks song at the end just made it even better. The boat was nice and toilets nice and clean. Can’t beat Loch Ness on a sunny day. Highly recommend for locals and tourists!

Great experience all around. We had a miss hap as in got on the wrong cruise, correct company just wrong boat, but it ended up being way better them expected! The crew was to helpful and let us stay on the boat and helped us the entire time. We were meant to be on the boat that got off to be able to see Urquhart Castle and we end dup being on the boat that just cruises past the castles. But the crew went out of their way to call the castle and let them know we had paid to see the castle so after the cruise was done we could still go and see the castle. We also had the only child om the entire boat so they gave direction on the best place to sit for the best views and even made her a special hot chocolate! Not only that, the recommended the nest restaurant to goto after the castle and it was so worth it. The captain of the boat was so knowledgeable of the area and entertaining as well. Highly recommend!

We took a short 50 minute trip on Loch Ness with our family. The boat goes slowly allowing plenty of time to enjoy the experience. The trip is only relatively short but it provides a very good overview of why the Loch is famous, particularly Nessie herself!
