Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did the walking Tour round Inverness with Cath, This Lady is one hell of Guide, a font of local knowledge, a master storyteller... with ease she managed to talk us through centuries of history, culture and folklore about Inverness. This is the first thing any visitor to Inverness should do, you won't regret it and we will be recommending this walking tour to all. Thank you Cath!

Thanks Cath! So knowledgeable and a great story teller. A great intro into Inverness. We ended up popping back to a few stops to explore more. Thanks for a great tour!

The driving tour I took of Culloden, the Clava Cairns and Fort George was like being taken by a neighbor on a visit to where she grew up. Cath herself is instantly likable and very attentive to your particular interests whatever they may be. More important, she really did grow up in the area and knows it like the back of her hand. Not only does she know the area, she knows all the old stories, whether it’s the details of the Battle of Culloden or the stories about her family and her neighbors in the historic environs of Inverness. Her attention to historic detail is superb and her love of the area is infectious. I highly recommend her tour.

Thank you for this great recommendation. I hope that I can bring the area alive through our history and my own lived experience. I'm not exactly ancient :) but things we believed and our language have changed so quickly that if no one talks about it this info will also be lost forever.

My friend who originally didn't want to join and planned to bow out, went ahead with the walking tour group led by guide Cath, and had a wonderful time! (as did I) Cath combined stories with historical facts, offered interesting tidbits of information, and managed to summarize the Battle of Culloden. We all laughed at the Outlander fan who left a love letter to Jamie Fraser at old St. Stephen's Church. The tour was also the right length (about 90 minutes), mostly flat, so perfect for 2 seniors.

It was great to meet you both. Yes, our Outlander visitors do like to follow the Jacobite trail around Inverness, many of the places we pass on my tour. Glad you enjoyed the walk,

My tours (1 and 1/2 days) with Cath (Walk Inverness) surpassed all expectations and were by far the best tours (of 6) that I experienced during my three week visit to Scotland. I feel so fortunate that she was able to accommodate my schedule on short notice due to problems with a previously booked guide. Cath immediately responded to my request for a solo bespoke driving tour of areas in and around Inverness that were meaningful to me because of family history. She quickly created an itinerary that included those places as well as others that are historically significant. Cath is an Inverness native and has a wealth of knowledge, history and insight of the area. In addition to her expertise, which she communicated very effectively, she was warm, friendly, patient, and attentive. She even made a couple of “detours” so I could sort out a postal issue. I feel as though I have made a new friend. Cath has gone above and beyond by providing me with book recommendations and links to sites that will help me as I continue to research my family. If you are visiting the Inverness area and need a guide, I recommend Cath of Walk Inverness without hesitation. In addition to walking tours, Cath can also provide driving tours as she did for me.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend 2 days with you. We made a route that took in all your points of interest. We rooted around in graveyards and chatted to a farmer who lived in your old family home. We meet a dancing ferret and a distant (very distant) relation of Bonnie Prince Charlie! I was able to help you on your family quest and we met a few characters along the way. I know you enjoyed your trip to the Highlands and I hope we welcome you back in the future. Keep safe and well.

We had a 2 hour private tour with Cath, who was a delightful tour guide; interesting and informative, with a lovely sense of humour. The weather was a little unkind during our walk, but it didn’t matter at all - we thoroughly enjoyed it. Best of all, Cath tailored the walk to suit us, taking us around parts of the city which we hadn’t already discovered. I suspect if we had had twice the amount of time, we still wouldn’t have managed to see everything. We would happily engage Cath again on a future visit to learn some more.

Yes, I could take you on an 8-hour tour of Inverness but I think you'd want to run away halfway through :) It's good to know a bit about my walkers so I can tailor the tour to people's interests. Thanks for taking the time to review my tour.

I am a tour guide in the US so I have high standards when I take a tour. Cath did not disappoint. I did a private 2 hour tour and had a great time. We covered a lot of ground and she had great stories at every stop. Cath is very knowledgeable about Inverness and I learned a lot from her.
Since I was by myself, she was nice enough to take some pictures of me at a few scenic places.
We also had fun sharing tour guide stories.
I highly recommend Cath's tour.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review. It was lovely to meet a fellow guide. Living in Inverness my whole life I have many stories to tell as well as the history of the place. I think we do have the best job in the world sharing where we live with visitors.
