I was treated to an autogyro flight as a present from my wife. What a gift! Instructor, Nick, thoroughly explained how a gyrocopter works and what to expect. We then went out to the machine and again, explanations were given as to what the controls were and what was happening as the start-up procedure commenced. It was all so comfortable and relaxing. Then we were off.I'd told Nick where I would like to go and we then went down the coast and viewed my desired destination. Although there was a gusting wind there were no noticeable sensations at all. The aircraft is stable and just goes along as smoothly as a hot knife through butter. An overall superbly enjoyable experience and just left me wanting to go again (which I will do). I am recommending the experience to all my family and friends and am now an enthusiast of this type of flying. Many thanks to all at Highland Aviation for your expertise and the warmth of your welcome. May you go from strength to strength.

My first experience of a gyrocopter flight, from being out in various fixed wing and helicopters this was one of the most thrilling experiences, I took to the sky's with Nick this afternoon and throughout the entire session this was welcoming, informative, and lots of hands on tuition the team hear host both rotary aircraft experiences (gyrocopter enclosed or open cockpit) and Fixed wing experiences if you are looking for a experience to remember or want to gift a experience to a friend or family member seriously do! The team are absolutely brilliant and happy to help where ever they can, my photos are not the best as I was too busy flying as much as I could 😊 Big shout out to Craig on the ground and Nick that took me up on this occasion!

This was my second visit to Highland Aviation having previously been in May 2023. This time the main objective was the beach landing course. We dropped so lucky with the weather and managed it at the first attempt. Barra is in the Outer Hebrides and I had been focussed so much on what would be happening when we got there that I failed to appreciate the absolutely stunning, world-class scenery that we would encounter on the journeys there and back. (The instructor took us a different way outbound and return). I am a pilot but even if you aren’t this is an absolutely fantastic experience.
Highland Aviation are 100% recommended. My travel arrangements (from Cheshire) were fairly complicated and so are the arrangements for the beach landing (working with tide times and the surprisingly early airport closing at Barra). This meant quite a lot of phone calls and emails but the staff were unfailingly cheerful, helpful and efficient. They have comfortable, well-equipped premises and the Cessna 172 (G-CCTT) is excellent. I will be back as soon as I can.

Flying an open cockpit gyrocopter...not a bad way to spend an hour or so, not bad at all. Had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. Nick was a great instructor and very good at explaining everything, as well as having a great knowledge of the area. Might need to go back again, which has nothing to do with leaving the lens cover on the 360 camera...doh! Thank you for a fantastic flight.

I had a fabulous 30-minute flight with Highland Aviation as a birthday present from my wife. It was a wonderful way to see the stunning landscape and I really enjoyed taking (some degree of) control of the aeroplane during the flight. Aidan (instructor) was very informative ... both pointing out landmarks / things of interest as well as telling me what was going on in terms of operating the aircraft and the overall flight. Highly recommend the experience and Highland Aviation.

Amazing!
I was given a 30 minute flight in an open cockpit gyrocopter as a 40th birthday present and it was fabulous from start to finish.
Highland Aviation is really easy to get to as it is within the Inverness airport estate with it's own car park.
On the ground side there is a spacious reception area, classrooms and welfare facilities all well maintained and spotlessly clean.
I was welcomed by a receptionist who was polite and professional. He answered all the questions I could think of at the time.
I was soon met by Instructor-pilot Nick,we talked about what I expected from the experience and how I felt about flying. Nick communicated very clearly and concisely about what we could do,he went on to show me around the aircraft and explain some very simple principles of how the gyrocopter works.
We donned some protective clothing and flying helmets with built in intercoms an very soon we were flying.
Climbing away from the airport facing west I had the most spectacular view of the inner Moray firth,Black Isle,Inverness,Beauly Firth and the Great Glenn with Loch Ness shimmering in the distance.
Now it was my turn to fly. Nnick guided me through the most basic manoeuvres and in minutes I felt confident in my ability to control the craft.
I had chosen to fly to Beauly(my home town) and in minutes we were there. We circled several times allowing me to get lots of excellent aerial pictures of the village.
We headed back towards the airport along the Northern shore of the Firth, again executing a few gentle manoeuvres then crossed over to approach the Airport from the East.
After the most gentle landing I've ever experienced we Taxied back to the Highland Aviation facility for some photos of a delighted novice aviator (that's me :-)) and a quick debrief.
Nick also sent me an electronic copy of our flight plan which shows exactly where we went in two and thre dimensions.
Flying a gyrocopter has turned out to be one of the most exciting and fascinating things I have ever done. To anyone looking for adventure or just great views I would say DO THIS! without hesitation.
