Donald was so helpful and enthusiastic. We had a fantastic adventure, learned some skills and had the most delicious cup of tea and biscuits river side, while the sun began to dip behind the autumn trees. Would highly recommend Explore Highlands

2 of us canoed the Great Glen over 4 days, wild camping each night from West to East coast. We hired a canoe and kit from Explore Highland who also shuttled us to the start point. All equipment was top notch and well thought out. Donald was fantastic, really helpful. Weather was great, no sign of midges, the canals and... More

My sister and I had an amazing half day Kayak trek with Donald! It was a blast! Donald is so full of knowledge and so giving of his passion for the area and for the sport. Definitely a must for people visiting the Loch!

Whenever someone asks my kids what they liked best about their visit to Scotland, they all say it was the paddle trip to Loch Ness by Explore Highlands. We visited Scotland in late July, 2016 from the U.S. and took the evening kayak trip to Loch Ness on a Sunday evening. Donald led our family (my wife, our four kids... More

I did the evening Loch Ness kayak and it was a real highlight of my short break in Inverness. The standard of the equipment provided was great and Donald enthusiastically provides some first class tuition for participants. Conditions were near perfect as we paddled our double sit-on kayaks towards Loch Ness. We had a welcome break en route when we... More

Donald organised a day Kayaking trip for us at short notice and despite the rain we all had the best time. He explained everything really well, providing detailed tips and guidance on how to watch the currents in the river. Plus we saw an Osprey! Loved the riverside brew - lovely touch. Honestly can't recommend him highly enough - book... More

First of all, Donald is a great teacher. He had an abundance of patience and made the whole day fun and informative. We spent the day on the River Beauly and got to experience amazing scenery, not to mention watching nesting Osprey. The whole day was great fun and I would recommend it for the whole family. If Donald can... More

Donald was a fantastic instructor. Great equipment. Taught us the basics on the canal then took us out on the firth, beautiful scenery and seals popping up everywhere! Excellent value for the afternoon too.

Wow. Yes, we were lucky to have extraordinarily good weather, but even in pouring rain I have no doubt that Donald would have facilitated an entertaining and enjoyable trip. With a fair amount of prior SUP experience, I chose to take a stand-up paddleboard whilst the other members were in kayak. We were in a small group led by Donald,... More
