Excellent staff and customers! Went into buy a birthday present stressed and shop due to close in 20 minutes!!! Young lady shop assistant was lovely and made me feel that I had all the time in the world to ponder. Then a customer who used to work in the shop helped and I thoroughly enjoyed shopping with them both. I... More

Walked in the store and found it to be quite an interesting experience. I don't drink but I was looking for a gift. The staff pointed me to a direction of a nice whisky that my cousin will enjoy. A very large selection and history of each bottle that the staff told me about. Quite a unique experience, will of... More

The Whisky Shop is a national organisation. Having visited many of the shops, the staff in Inverness really make it and I would suggest it's the best in the UK. True whisky enthusiasts willing to engage in conversation and spend time with you. Well worth getting to know the team!

We did a tasting tour. The gentleman doing this was very knowledgeable indeed, and very pleasant. I tried some unusual whiskies, enjoyed learning more from him, and the rest of the staff were lovely also. The whisky isn't good value - the exact same ones available cheaper elsewhere - but they have some unusual and rare ones, and the knowledge,... More

I went there in June and noticed they had guided tastings in the evening around 7pm (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). For 20 pounds, I had some of the most fantastic and rare whisky's I've ever tried, with a nice introduction to the different regions. We were only 3 people at the tasting, so it was quite personal.

This place feeds on tourist Money, with tourist prices to boot (most whiskies are 10-30 prices above their RRP). If Inverness in your only stop go wild, otherwise avoid like the plague. More or less any specialist shop in Edinburgh or Glasgow (including the duty free) will blow this out the water.

This whiskey shop is fantastic if you are looking for something in particular, from Liquor sweets, fudge, and some small souvenirs, inc whiskey sets. The shop does charge more than your usual tesco, asda, or maybe morrisons. But there is more on offer here. You can try some of the whiskey in the casks. It's in the heart of Inverness... More

I'd been left by my tour bus so was trying to find my way to the bus station when I went in to ask directions. The pretty blond lady not only went out front to give me directions but checked to make sure I had enough of the correct currency. then she gave me an extra # just to be... More
