Carol and I spent a week with George Polwarth of All Around Loch Ness touring the Highlands. George served as our guide, driver, advisor and overall director of the trip.(He was also chief joke teller with Carol following in a strong second place). We felt that he was excellent in every way. George was always pleasant and upbeat. He was well prepared each day and prompt and courteous. He made great adjustments on the fly as needed and politely kept us moving to visit the many different sights and activities that were scheduled. We probably saw and did twice as many things as we would have if we were on our own. Also, George suggested some lesser known “secret” spots that were great. He recommended some very nice places to eat and of course, was an excellent driver being very safety conscious.Loch Ness, Cairngorms and Reindeer Park, Cycling along the Ft. Augustus Canal, Isle of Skye, castle touring( Doune Castle was a favorite) hiking, Great Glen tour, and much more were all highlights for us. We just don’t know how anyone could do more than George to assure a wonderful vacation experience. His dedication and flexibility to help us have a great time was unique among our many trip experiences. We thought that the cost was more than fair and the best money we could have spent to get such a personal, knowledgeable, safe visit to the Highlands. Bravo George-Great job and thanks so much.Matt and Carol

I wanted to see the Hebrides and George delivered a fantastic five day trip which included all the ferries and stops in between for photography and other sight seeing. I specifically wanted to get off the tourist-heavy paths and see some of Scotland's other gems. I could not have been happier. I'd gladly book with George for a future trip and would recommend him to anyone.

As others have said, George is wonderful! He's very knowledgeable, but if he doesn't know, he simply says so. We enjoyed the balance of natural beauty and historic sites, being active and sitting, time with him and time to explore independently. In our group, we had children ages 5, 7, and 9. He engaged them beautifully over the course of a long day, and I learned from his example. The 7-year-old said he wished George was their neighbor.

We did the Around Loch Ness tour with George which as the name suggests is a tour which takes one to sight seeing spots as well as spots of historical and cultural significance in and around the Loch Ness as Inverness more generally. We just returned from a three week tour of England and Scotland and did multiple guided tours along the way and we thought that George’s tour was by far the best of the lot. First off the itinerary is beautifully planned incorporating different types of landscapes - wooded areas, boat cruise, rolling plains - as well as spots of historical significance. But what really sets apart this tour is George himself. He knows the area like the back of his palm but more importantly is a proud highlander with an accurate and in depth understanding of the history and culture of the place. The tour is reasonably long at close to 10 hours but not for one moment did we feel bored. In fact George ensured that even our 5 year old daughter was kept engaged throughout the trip which takes some doing. Absolutely recommended.

George from Around Loch Ness was excellent. We only had a short time in Inverness and The Highlands and he did an outstanding job of educating us. He made it such an enjoyable experience telling us stories and sharing the beautiful history of the country. He’s professional, funny, interesting and has such a vast knowledge of Scotland. We felt so lucky to have him as our guide! Thank you! You delighted us NYC girls!
