We wanted to have a relaxing day fishing at a Lake and decided to try You Fish Scotland for a full day of fly fishing. This was our first time fishing ever and we really enjoyed it! Colin picked us up at our vacation rental and showed us the basics for fly fishing. Colin was very helpful and patient. We did not catch any fish, however, we loved sitting out at the lake and the beautiful surroundings where we fished. We needed a vacation so badly and needed to rest and relax and our fishing tour gave us that as well. We met Wes and his wife who brought us Lunch and we had a nice time chatting about Scotland & sites to visit. We loved it and recommend them highly! Del and family

Thrilled to recommend You Fish Scotland!
Wes provided all the adventure we could handle today and made sure we were relaxed and comfortable all the while.
We’ve fished with guides all over the world, and have seen every type. None of them have gone so far out of their way to make us feel at home. Wes worked hard from beginning to end to be accommodating and by the end of our time together, we just wanted more!
There’s no question that we’ll get out with him the next time we’re in Scotland!

We can not thank Wez and his family enough for our wonderful fly fishing day. We were made to feel so welcome and learnt so much from the day. The lake and surroundings are stunning. We look forward to returning again in the future. If you have never fly fished and wanted to learn, you could ask for no better place to visit.

Excellent fishing experience with Wes. Caught some nice pike and rainbow trout. My wife enjoyed the day and caught her first pike. The private loch is beautiful and teeming with pike, brown trout and rainbows. Lovely cabin stocked with snacks and drinks and West does a good BBQ. Thanks from us both for a good day. Worth every penny.

Wes, Roz and Jen were so accommodating! The journey was last minute and the experience we received was out of this world!
The guiding was first class and the hospitality was outstanding.
I would highly recommend You Fish Scotland to all of my friends and look forward to heading back in 2018!

the weather was ominous - but we had the best guide on earth who managed to help us not only catch fish but who inspired and amused us enough to stay out in the really cold conditions to keep fishing.
Wes and Roz where so thoughtful and attentive and organised to support my daughter, (with a motor planning issue), to go fishing that I cant rate them highly enough.
Roz prepared a lovely lunch and Wes made sure we were tucked up in appropriate, (if highly amusing), gear. I cant think of anything more they could have done to make our day so special.
We had a truly memorable experience with their family at the lake - can't thank you enough!
(and my daughter won the bet as to who would catch the most fish!)

A friend and I arranged for a day fishing with Wes, at the lakeside cabin he runs with Roz. We were promptly picked up at our hotel and driven out of the city, into sheep farming territory, and, finally, to their rustic cabin.
We got completely outfitted and had a wee dram for good luck.
The days was cold and rainy, but OH MY LORD we returned for the most amazing lunch by Roz. In itself, worth every penny of the cost.
As a guide, we worked with Jenny, a fantastic young Scots woman with a lovely brogue and very good tips and tricks for the waters.
In the end, the major catch was an 8-lb pike on the fly.
The true value though, was in spending time with Wes and Ros and their family, enjoying their hospitality and chatting. This might be due to luck, but in addition to the amazing lunch, we enjoyed shortbread cookies made by a Scottish grandma and Tabled, an amazing dessert homemade by Roz.
OK the food and the conversation were better than the weather and the fishing on that day, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

My wife had never fly fished before and Wez was able to really get her to thoroughly enjoy it. Not only did he have her casting on her own but she caught around 9 trout. They took us to the most beautiful hill Loch outside of Inverness. Not only was it an absolutely stunning location set amongst sheep filled hillsides but they had this adorable cabin that was rustic and charming. We spent most of our time on the water throwing streamers and nymphs. We broke for a nice hot soup and sandwich lunch back in the cabin and continued to fish until the late afternoon. Roz was so friendly and accommodating, my wife and she bonded while we took coffee afterwards. Paul, who works for them, was a most charming fellow that would net your fish and give you a congratulatory handshake each time, along with a "Well done, lad." The whole experienced surpassed anything my wife or I could have imagined.

Just back from two great days with Wes, Roz, Paul and Thumper.
Caught my first brown and rainbow trout, and my first pike. And my wife caught a superb rainbow with her first ever fishing experience (and on the fly!). Weather conditions on the loch were challenging - wind, sun, rain, snow, hail, thunder - but we managed to fly-fish and spin from bank and boat.
Loved it; great location with lovely people and organisation worked a treat.
Highly recommended.
Thanks to all.

Hi Jacqueline,
We do not offer Carp as a species of fish but we can highly recommend a location close to Elgin. This is a 1 hour drive from Inverness and well worth the effort. If you contact Kevin Moss or Tom at the Glen of Rothes Fishery he will be able to offer you Carp fishing at affordable prices.
Phone number: 0044 (0)1340 831888
We can offer Pike and Perch close to Inverness on the Fly and Spinner if your boy is interested. I hope this helps you. Have a lovely trip. Wes
