Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Renting a bike in the off season is tricky in Inverness, but this place got us on the road. Thank you. Our hybrid bikes were in great shape and the drop off was easy. The woman who came to help us was so fun, it was a pleasure to work with her. (I forget her name, I apologize.) My son is super tall, 6'8" and his bike was perfect. We had two days of fun riding.

We hired bikes from here (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and cycled down the Caledonian canal. We found the lady to be really friendly. We were provided with locks and helmets and maps for the ride along the canal. Unfortunately you can’t get right to Loch Ness on the canal you’d have to do the last bit on a busy road which we were advised not to do. If you want to do Loch Ness you need to do the river route. Anyway that didn’t spoil our enjoyment and we decided to also cycle to the other end of the Caledonian where it meets the firth. We loved this end of the canal. Our bike ride also took us through the Ness islands.
The bikes were in good condition, very well pumped tyres. It wasn’t a difficult bike ride that we chose to do but we all enjoyed our few hours on the bikes. Would thoroughly recommend.

Once we found the owner (Malcolm) in the shop next door everything went smoothly. There were a range of good quality hybrids for £30/day (mostly Carrera) and we were offered helmets (we took our own) and an inner tube replacement kit. We were given a map of some excellent off-road cycle routes nearby, and we followed them up and down the Caledonian Canal, and then down to Dores on the shores of Loch Ness - 33 miles in total.

Hired two mountain bikes for a cycle from Inverness to Loch Ness and it was a seamless experience. Great service and great bikes. We experienced a lovely friendly atmosphere from start to finish and want to say a massive thank you to all the staff.

We got there around opening time, a bit strange to hire bikes in a gift shop but other than that all was great.
Bikes were in good shape, staff was helpful giving us a map and directions, helmets, bags for our stuff and locks.
In all a great experience.

And an uphill pedal from the shop to Clava Cairns and Culloden but I did it. The owners of the shop even lent me a rain jacket since I didn't think to bring one on my hiking/biking solo birthday trip to Scotland where it often rains. Easy to find once you know where (Google "Caledonian Gifts" if you're trying to gps it). Oh, and they are HALF the price of other bike rentals in the area..

Martin at Inverness Bike Hire was so helpful and kind. He set our whole family up with bikes for our ride in the Scottish Highlands. He gave us precise directions and ideas of what to do and don't do along the way. Super friendly and great sense of humor. Thank you Martin for making this one of our highlights of our family travels. We will never forget how much fun we had and how kind and helpful you were to all of us.

I hired a bike for 5 days, took the D+E bike bus to the West coast, and had a wonderful cycling holiday. Tip - be sure you check you know how to use the pump provided, as it is 'high tech' compared to the pumps of my youth!

I hired a bike for 2 days from Inverness Bike Hire and it was well worth it! The three men I talked to were all very helpful and offered me great route options. I would recommend this place to anyone, the bikes are in great condition and they send you with a field kit in case of a puncture (never got that before). Take time to chat with them, they're funny and have great tips for your stay in Inverness!

Had a great day biking up to Dores on Loch Ness. Bike hire was easy, quick and great value. Flat rate of £20 for the day. Service was very friendly. Awesome way to explore the area. Recommend this place! :)
