Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Once we found the owner (Malcolm) in the shop next door everything went smoothly. There were a range of good quality hybrids for £30/day (mostly Carrera) and we were offered helmets (we took our own) and an inner tube replacement kit. We were given a map of some excellent off-road cycle routes nearby, and we followed them up and down the Caledonian Canal, and then down to Dores on the shores of Loch Ness - 33 miles in total.

Brilliant place to hire your bike, they couldn't have be more helpful.
We rode to Lock Ness and absolutely no issue with our bikes at all.
Helmet, lock and advice freely thrown in.
Very cheap considering we were able to keep the bikes for 24 hours.

We traveled in style thanks to Sir Mechanic of the Inverness Bike Hire. My friend and I rented two bikes to galivant through the highlands for four days and were provided with two well maintained, hybrid bikes. These bikes were well suited for paved and gravel roads, but I wouldn't suggest any "off roading." When we picked them up we mentioned taking buses around the country and were advised to have covers for the bikes as most buses won't allow them in the luggage compartments uncovered. Thankfully Sir mechanic took us to the charity shop door and we were able to pick up two duvets to cover the bikes with (see attached pictures of out stylish covers). Then Sir mechanic was kind enough to take time to walk us through the bikes and effectively breaking them down to be covered effectively for travel. We got a good laugh from a bus driver with the Teletubbies and Fairy Princess duvets, but were allowed on each bus as a result. *Note* I suggest having the bikes in the covers before the bus arrives so they are not held up waiting for you! When we returned, the bikes were inspected and found to be in a good state. All in all, a fantastic and smooth rental experience. We are very thankful for the advice, experience, and kindness of Sir Mechanic of the Inverness Bike Hire. Highly recommend you go here for all you bike rental needs.

Hired two mountain bikes for a cycle from Inverness to Loch Ness and it was a seamless experience. Great service and great bikes. We experienced a lovely friendly atmosphere from start to finish and want to say a massive thank you to all the staff.

Reasonable rates, super friendly staff, and meticulously tuned hybrid bikes. Rolled and shifted flawlessly and were a great way to explore the area outside of the city.
My only feedback is that Inverness and the surrounding area is not particularly bike friendly, and the route that we were recommended to use to get to the Culloden battlefield took us along some higher speed, rather narrow roads which probably are not suitable for more cautious cyclists.

Definitely the best place to rent a bike in Inverness! I did an extended bike hire for 5 days. The bike mechanic was super passionate and caring. He went above and beyond to ensure that my bike was prepared for a long journey ahead. Highly recommend renting from here.

What a fantastic visit to Inverness Bike Hire. Was given an excellent bike for hire that was in immaculate condition. Clearly the hard work of the bike mechanic who I had a series of great conversations to about the refurbishing of retro bikes. Through these conversations we came onto the topic of a bike he owned and was fixing up that would fit my tall frame. I ended up buying the bicycle for an extremely reasonable price that I know will last me many years to come due to the expertise of the mechanic. Highly recommend a visit if you’re looking to hire a bike in Inverness and might be worth checking if there are any retro bike refurbished available for sale. You could walk away with a gem.
