I called Alastair to ask about the possibility of a day tour for a group of 4 as a birthday treat for one of the group.
Very last minute, but it was our good fortune that he was free yesterday. He was very helpful and accommodating, and suggested a potential itinerary based on the little info that I provided. We were picked up promptly at Clachaig Inn and dropped back to the Inn at the end of our fab day trip which covered c150 miles and included numerous key landmarks.
Alastair was well informed and knowledgeable and accommodated our impromptu requests for photo ops during the day, including various movie locations in and around Glencoe. He has a very engaging way, and is very enjoyable company.
He also took us to his local in Fort WIlliam, the Lochy, for a fab lunchtime pint of Guinness!
For a relaxed, informal and very enjoyable day out, we highly recommend Alastair, and Highland Mini Tours

Our group of three was looking for a day trip to Skye originating in Ft William. We contacted Alastair at Highland Mini Tours via email from the US and arranged for the tour.
Alastair picked us from our B&B in Ft William, and we enjoyed a full day on Skye plus nearby sights including the Glenfinnan (Harry Potter) Viaduct and the Eilean Donan Castle. Alastair is a professional driver who provides just enough information about the sights and is happy to provide additional information when asked. The tour was exactly what we were looking for,

Cannot fault the experience of this tour. Alistair was an outstanding guide who provided us with a bespoke tour based on our requests. He took us to many places in our 4 hour tour and was considerate of the mobility of one of the group, ensuring to drop us in exact locations and collect us after exploring. Nothing was too much and his local knowledge was excellent.
During our time we visited Inverlochy Castle, Glenfinnan Monument and Viaduct, Neptune’s Staircase, Glen Nevis Estate (Ben Nevis, waterfalls) and was happy to stop off along the way for ad-hoc photo opportunities.
I would, without hesitation, recommend Alistair to be your tour guide whilst visiting this beautiful area of the highlands.
Hopefully we will be fortunate enough to visit again and will be using Alistair’s services again.

When you book a tour, you are looking for a safe driver and knowledgeable guide. Alasdair does both extremely well. In the lead up to the day, he was very responsive to emails and organisation to ensure our day was the best it could be. He has a gentle nature, very caring and thoughtful and very determined to ensure that your journey is a great one. We did a day trip to the Isle of Sky because we wanted to do a tour of Talisker. Alasdair took us to see several sites along the way to make the journey so much better. Thanks Alasdair. We had a fabulous time. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic journey with Alastair, from Fort William to Edinburgh. He took us to a few beautiful spots with amazing views and scenery, and the Ben Nevis Whiskey distillery, which was fascinating and then onto Edinburgh for the rest of our trip. I would definitely recommend Alistair as your guide for any trip around the Highlands!

We had a great day on the Fort William/Oban and Argyll tour with Alastair on October 6. Alastair is a safe driver and gave us plenty of rest stops. We enjoyed visits to Castle Stalker viewpoint, Oban, St. Conan's Kirk, Inveraray Castle and the Glencoe Valley.
That afternoon, Scotland had so much rain that trains were cancelled for the following day - October 7. We were scheduled to take the train from Fort William to Edinburgh on October 7 so we booked a bus which was cancelled the next evening with no lead time. I contacted Alastair as we were stuck in Fort William with a flight to Dublin the following day at noon. He drove us to Edinburgh Airport the following morning which took 4 hours due to flooding and standing water in the roads. Alastair got us to the airport just in time for our flight. We highly recommend Alastair!!

Alastair is very knowledgeable of the area and very flexible able to adjust for any little "Hiccups" that can pop up unexpectedly. We took a bus tour with another company the day before our three-day mini tour with Highland Mini Tours. When it was discovered that we had gone to one of the stops the day before Alastair adjusted and took us to a little unknown spot, "The Well of the Seven Heads", he even told us the tale. I cannot say enough about the time we spent with Highlands Mini Tours. On our next trip to Scotland, I will be booking with Highlands Mini Tours.

This tour was absolutely perfect, customizable and personalized for exactly what you want to see. Alastair was a wonderful driver and a delight to chat with. I’d highly recommend him for any tours of the area, really a lovely experience- I’d give six stars if I could.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time on our tour today throughout Isle of Sky. Alastair was our guide and he was absolutely wonderful Knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a fantastic tour guide !!! I can’t thank you enough Alastair ! When we are back we will book another tour!!!

They are both fantastic and very informative tours, we only did the Mini Tour in and around Fort William and a full day tour in and around Oban. I would recommend taking a camera as you may see some wildlife or anything of interest. The tours can either be half a day or more depending on where you want the go and where you have to travel from or to. I would also highly recommend these tours.
