Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

10/10. I was underprepared with kit/gear, and so thankful that Caspar brought a fleece, proper raincoat, rain pants, and gloves for me. The Scottish weather is really something (even though it's easy for Caspar compared to Antarctica)! Also a versatile and intelligent conversationalist and just a good guy. An unforgettable experience.

Over the past 7 years I have climbed with Caspar and can say that he is an excellent guide and mountaineer.

Amazing skills, knowledge of the mountains, conditions and weather. Also blessed with patience and understanding, which is good for us mortals who are not used to being on the hills day in day out.

Last year I asked him to guide my 15 year old daughter, up Ledge Route - her first big climb and first Munro. He did this putting her at ease and building her confidence. A great day.

I would recommend Caspar to anyone wanting to experience the mountains. 5 star recommendation.

I reached out to Caspar for a week's private guiding and instruction after finding him via Instagram. He and I discussed my previous climbing experience; whatnot was I hoped to gain from this time, as well as my long term mountaineering goals. A good and thorough start!

On the hill Caspar proved to be a tremendous instructor. He was patient in explaining new concepts and techniques. He had fantastic tact, pulling back when the situation became overwhelming, but also pushing when he knew I was capable of something I was tentative about.

I couldn't speak more highly of him as an instructor.

Had 2 trips to skye for climbing, both times Casper guided us. Brilliant knowledge of the land, foot holds, routes, geology.
Also as a man with vertigo, he was extremely calm and knew all the correct things to say to get over the technical climbing and abseiling.
When I return I'll definitely be returning to Mckeever mountain guiding.

I spent two days with Caspar on the Cuillin Ridge, and had the most amazing days! Yes, the weather helped as well, but the overall experience was massively influenced by Caspar's contribution. Apart from being a genuinely nice guy to be around for a long day, he is also extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the challenge. What made it particularly satisfying for me was his knack of finding the perfect balance between safety conscience, and giving me enough space to push myself and add challenges which weren't part of the original objectives for the day. In the end, the In Pin almost seemed easy bearing in mind the preparation and what we'd done before. I could go on and on about little details, but let's leave it at: if you want to try stuff which you don't feel confident doing by yourself, contact Caspar. You'll be in very, very good hands.

Have been out on the Cuillin Ridge with Caspar three times now and can’t fault his expertise. With some of the more “technical” climbing needed on Skye - well, he just makes it so easy. It’s always a pleasure going out with him and I would thoroughly recommend his services.

Caspar is a superb guide - he really worked on improving my general mountain skills rather than simply taking me up and down the mountain. He was good company, and we had a great day out despite the weather. Looking forward to climbing with him again.

We have now had a couple of outings with Caspar (last year on the Skye Cuillin - Inn Pinn in particular and this year in Glencoe on the Aonach Egach) and we could not more highly recommend his services.

The biggest plus, in my view, is the trust and reassurance that Caspar gives through his calm demeanour and the encouragement that he gives. His knowledge and skills extend way past not just just all things climbing and hillwalking but the surrounding environment. It makes for a most interesting day!
