We were on a trip with the Lord of the Glens ship and they made kayaking available through Rockhopper when we stopped in Lochaber. They had two-person kayaks so we were able to enjoy the experience together, which is important to us.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient, explaining how everything worked and what to do Before we got on the water (not all outfits bother). They also made sure we were able to board without getting soaking wet, a real plus.

We spent a pleasant hour paddling around the harbor area and the smaller adjacent islands. The weather was calm so we weren't fighting the wind, but the tide was challenging on the way out. Our guide timed the trip so the tide was working with us coming back, which was most welcome.

The water is so clear you can see starfish and other marine life several feet down, and there were lots of birds about. It was a pleasant outing and we'd recommend this company.

Myself and a pal joined a couple and our brilliant guide, Jamie, for a half day kayaking from Arisaig. The water was a little choppy at points, but with Jamie’s top guidance, we were able to make it through unscathed and visit a few small islands dotted around the bay. We saw SO many seals, many of whom swam around us, popping their heads up to get a better look at what we were up to! I was (to be quite honest) a bit rubbish and very slow, so Jamie graciously hung back with me on the return leg to make sure I didn’t get swept away. And we absolutely hit the jackpot, with an otter popping up a few metres ahead of us as he chowed down on a fish before ducking back under the water. A completely unforgettable experience and one I’m SO glad I was able to do! Thank you Jamie and Rockhopper and also mother nature :)

Great day with Gary from Rockhoppers kayaking on Loch Leven. Well planned and interesting itinerary. Fantastic coaching tailored to our needs. Gary went the extra mile as official photographer when I forgot my phone.

Day tour sea kayaking from Arisaig with Jamie.
Great day with a knowledgeable guide, opportunities to explore and realise how different the coast is when seen from the water.
We saw common seals, various sea birds along with sea urchins, star fish and some beautiful beaches.
We had a fantastic day, felt incredibly safe at all times and really enjoyed ourselves.
Would happily recommend and will book again if ever back this way.
Thanks Jamie

Great day's kayaking under the genial guidance of Neville.
We were 3 groups of strangers, 6 in total, including 1 honeymooning couple and all of a similar competence.
With such beautiful weather it was always going to be amazing. Right from the off we could see plenty of seals and their pups basking on rocks - I had a seal pup snuffling around a foot away from my kayak for about a minute. Even Neville hadn't ever seen them so curious and close.
Nev directed us through the islets, occasionally landing on beautiful beaches for a break or lunch, and allowed us to have some say in the route planning meaning we got to experience different strengths of wave. At no point did any of the group feel unsafe. Duration wise it was plenty time.
We did this as a last activity after 5 days camping and walking and it was an excellent way to wind up our trip. Well worth doing and good value.

My daughters and I had the most memorable day! While you don't control the conditions - which were perfect - you sent along the best guide - Nigel - for an afternoon out on the water. I look forward to coming back to Scotland and going for a longer trip! I would recommend Rockhopper Sea Kayaking to anyone looking for a great way to view the Scottish coastline.
