We (my wife, our 14 year son and I) are Munroists and need to climb the 11 Skye Munros in the Cuillin in order to compleat. We booked Dave for four days and thanks to his vast knowledge of the Cuillin ridge, his adaptability, his friendly calm and unflappable nature we completed 9 of the 11 over the four days.

We cannot recommend Dave highly enough and would encourage anybody in our situation to book with HMC. You will not be disappointed and there is no way you will climb the Cuillin Munros without a guide of Dave's ability.

The experience gives great value for money and is one we will always remember. So good we've booked again in July to climb the remaining 2

Amazing experience which was only possible thanks to our instructor Dave. Weather conditions meant the order tackled had to change but that meant the In Pinn was my first Munro on the ridge. We managed 10 of the summits over 3 days rather than 4 and I was confident enough to do the last on my own the following day having learnt a lot during the climbs with Dave. You need to have good level of fitness but in poor conditions it is even more useful to have a guide as path-finding can be tricky. Also need to abseil a couple of times so having an experienced instructor meant I felt completely safe and at ease. If at all nervous about tackling the Cuillins I would highly recommend booking an instructor. I would also highly recommend climbing in Skye as it was an unforgettable experience.

Dave, my guide, was very helpful and flexible in suggesting alternatives should the weather deteriorate overnight. He managed the pace on the ascent and descent so that we were able to complete in just over 6 hours. Dave ensured that we were properly equipped for the conditions, unlike the vast majority of the other hikers who were very wet and cold. Dave was very informative and a great guide. I would strongly recommend using Dave if you are contemplating going up Ben Nevis

From start (planning) to finish (the hikes themselves) the entire experience with the Highland Mountain company was first rate - I could not have imagined a better weekend in the Highlands. As soon as I reached out, David was very helpful with answering all my questions (as I'm a novice to the Highlands) and planning the dates and giving options, catering to my level of fitness. Connected with my assigned guide, Nathan, a couple days before the hike and we set out a plan based on the weather. Day 1 was the Pap of Glencoe and day 2 was the Lost Valley - both were such stunning hikes, especially the Pap where the 360 views from the summit made for such a magical, unforgettable experience. Nathan proved a top guide, not only extremely knowledgeable with the paths and trails, but also about the geology and history of the area, and made for great conversation both days. Would also note that with his decade of experience in the mountains, he was very patient with me and was very encouraging and helpful, especially at some of the tougher parts of the trails. While both days have left me extremely exhausted and sore, I'm already planning my next trip back up with the Highland Mountain Company - could not recommend them more!

We had a great expedition to the top of the Lost Valley in Glencoe, Guided by Ian. We went much further than we would have managed on our own and Ian got us past several challenging sections with patient encouragement to find best hand and foot holds on steep sections - especially on the descent. The Lost Valley is not a difficult trek but it is more scrambling than we are used to in the gentle lowland hills.
In additon to pointing out many interesting things about Glencoe, history, geography, geology and biology, he also kept our teenage girls entertained with some tall stories. All in all a great day out. Will go back for more

A very enjoyable trip to Skye was had(even though the weather did not behave). Our guide constantly kept an eye on the weather reports and discussed alternatives to make sure our safety came first. We had a great experience along the ridge, between walking, scrambling and climbing.
I'd recommend The Highland Mountain Company and would definately use them again.

Fantastic New years day hike up Ben Nevis! Dave and Craig lead us up and they were both fantastic, sharing knowledge, given advice and telling us the history of the mountain. We were very lucky with the weather, with minimal wind and sunshine at the summit and nice snow underfoot - both Dave and Craig ensured we all felt comfortable and safe throughout and well equipped for the conditions.
Would definitely recommend and will be using for future adventures!

I would highly recommend this company , mark our guid was very friendly and his experience and knowledge of Ben Nevis was just perfect for a beginner . I was hiking with my teenage daughter who greatly enjoyed her time on Ben Nevis . Upon returning to school her teacher asked if any one had done something they were proud of during the prolonged time off they had , my daughter said she was proud of climbing Ben Nevis . I would choose this company again in the future we were so happy with our whole experience .

Spent an incredible day hiking with Hannah on the Lost Valley Trail. The scenery was stunning and Hannah did a perfect job getting us through the hike safely. She also served as a top-tier photographer and champagne carrier as the hike culminated with me proposing to my girlfriend, now finace! Couldn't have had a better experience and will definitely call The Highland Mountain Company for another guided hike the next time we're in Scotland.

I had a really enjoyable day doing Am Basteir and Sgurr nan Gillean in the Cuillin Hills of Skye. My guide Josh was very knowledgeable and capable, and even arranged good weather! He made me feel very safe including on the more tricky climbing parts of the route. I would definitely recommend using the Highland Mountain Company.
