Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brian was a punctual and attentive guide for our 5-hour tour, taking in the Fairy Pools followed by the Fairy Glen. We chatted away on many subjects during the drives, and gaped at the astonishing landscape. We made thorough explorations of both locations. We spent so long navigating the fairy pools (still magical on a wet and blustery day) that Brian texted to check we were ok!
Driving along a mountain road, we saw several incredibly vivid rainbows hung in the air spanning the lochs. Brian stopped for photo opps and waited patiently while we snapped and ooohed and aaahed.
Our trip included a welcome stop at a local cafe with excellent toasted sandwiches, cakes, and toilet facilities.
We had a wonderful day - highly recommended.

Brian was an excellent Tour Guide on Skye!
We did consider to do this ourselves and in retrospect this would have been sheer folly.
Brian met us at the Castle and took us to our B and B which he had recommended ( and a great recommend it was).
He then picked us up after we had a a bit of R and R and took us on a "Magical" tour of the Island explaining the History of everything we saw,. very knowledgeable.
After dropping us back at lodgings he had also recommended (and booked for us)
The Plockton Inn restaurant where we all enjoyed a superb meal and evening overall.
Glad we did not try a DIY job as we would not have enjoyed Skye half as much.
Thanks Brian!

We were a party of 5 and had a 2 night stay in Kyeleakin ,Skye. Hired Brian for 3 trips. He collected us, on time, from Armadale ferry to transfer to our hotel Was full of information about The Village, hotel, where to eat and things to see. Picked us up promptly at 10am for our tour of Skye. He was very knowledgable about everything we passed on route. He knew of the best cake shop in Portree, and knew all the best places to stop for viewing and photo opportunities throughout the day. It was a wonderful day made better by Brian's knowledge and humour. On our last day he transferred us to Kyle of Lochalsh Station for our onward journey but kept our luggage so we could explore Kyle for a couple hours. All in all a great trip made better by Brian and would thoroughly recommend this company

If only a short time on Skye (a mistake we do not intend to repeat), best option is an Isle Tour. Join a commercial tour & load on a giant transport bus with dozens of other tourist to be overrun while trying to take in the beauty and tranquility of Skye….OR… book a private tour with Kyle Taxi, as recommended by our bespoke tour agency “Uniquely Scotland” (also highly recommended). Gordon arrived promptly at 10:00 am for 8+ hrs of sightseeing, story telling, history, and just plain old good conversation. The beauty of this tour is it can be customized. We had not special plans, and just told Gordon we were interested in the natural features of Skye, its history, and it’s way of life today and in the past. He provided the perfect day, a variety of sights including ocean vistas, craggy mountains, short walks, waterfalls, castles, lochs, domestic and wildlife, and a visit to a wonderful museum of what life on Skye was like in the past. All the while, he wove in history, stories/myths of the isles, and information on what it was like to live here now and in the past. Now we know enough to properly plan a trip to Skye in the future (which needs to be longer than 2 nights). Thank You Gordon for sharing your love of history and the land (and sea) with us. What we learned helped us better appreciate the rest of our Scottish vacation and inspires us to read more on Scottish history.

We were staying in our Motorhome in Dingwall and had decided to make a day trip on the scenic Kyle of Lochalsh railway. Spotted Brian's Skye Taxi Tours on here and called. Superb service throughout our 5 hour tour from the pick up at Kyle of Lochalsh Station through all the various scenic stops for photos and recommendations on good places for coffee and lunch when we stopped. Friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

We hired Brian's taxi for a quick visit to Eilean Donan Castle so we could take some photos. He dropped us off and patiently waited while we did our thing. He took us to a vantage point across the loch on the way back for more photos, then as we had time, he recommended a walk to a local lookout with great views. It was a gorgeous day and we got some wonderful shots. Finally he dropped our bags off to us later at a café in Kyle so we wouldn't have to carry them around to the lookout point. Great service, and great value!

Could not have had a better guide than Brian! He was right on time, and took the time to hear what our ideas were on places to see. He suggested 1-2 changes, which were fine, and we were on our way. Brian has tons of great stories, and he knows a lot about anything you could possibly want to see. In particular, if you are a photographer, he knows some alternative locations to shoot from that give you that unique shot.

Brian came to pick up me and a friend of mine, shortly after our arrival at Kyle of Lochalsh.
Brian took us to our B&B and gave us lots of nice tips of what to do/see on the Island of Skye. We got quickly to our destination.
About 1h after the drop off, Brian called me telling me that I had forgotten my purse on his taxi and that he would come to bring it to me! I hadn't even realised that I had left it behind.
It was an amazing feeling to know that I had met someone so trustworthy. Thank you, Brian.

Brian McFayden was a great tour guide. He took us around Skye to incorporate a lunch at 3 Chimney's that we pre-booked. He also took us from Portree to Fort William. We appreciated his knowledge. It wouldn't hurt for him to have a microphone so we could hear in the back but otherwise it was a great trip. Thank you.
