A Good Place to Visit
Feb 2020
Booked a morning tour and arrived in good time (travelling by public transport as I fully intended to sample a dram or two). A chilly wind was blowing off the sea but we were warmly welcomed and shown to the museum to wait until the tour was due to depart. An interesting room with some background information on the Distillery and some of the early characters behind it. There was also a short audio visual presentation on nosing and tasting the cratur.

Soon our tour guide (Paul) arrived and told us that we were the only two on the tour that morning. We had a great trip round the distillery from how the grain is processed and the distillation commenced right through to the maturation warehouses. Paul was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of our questions and also told us about the ideosyncrasies that make the Dalmore what it is.

The tour ended in the sample room where we watched another video on the Dalmore and a refresher on tasting the samples. We were given two different drams and, with the tutorial and the tasting notes were able to learn from, "The Nose" one of Scotland's greatest whisky experts. Both were fine drams (12yo and Port Wood if I remember correctly).

We then visited to shop where we met our guide again and Anne Marie (I think), tried a couple of samples, got additional info from the staff and then settled on the Cigar Malt and the Valour which were purchased and carried carefully home. An interesting distillery and worth a visit if you are in the area

Exellent tour
Nov 2019
Visited here today on a bit of a whim/take a chance after lunch in Alness as we'd not booked ahead or checked if there was 2pm tour in advance. Warm welcome from (Ann maire & Paul) booked on tour and had good look round shop, after being closed during some of the refurbishment works it was lovely to see what they'd done..and hear what else is being planned. The tour was excellent, very different stills compared to others, super explanation of the history of the distillery loved the Sensory Room. Super Tasting Room with short film. Driver bottles offered at once and great to see them pre labelled/branded.

Booked in the morning for an afternoon tour. Loved every minute of it.
Place is very historic and extremely interesting.
The lady tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my many questions.
I bought a bottle of great whisky to take home with me.

Great Whisky, Excellent Tour
Oct 2019
Our first point of contact was Linsey, and she was delightful throughout the booking process and when we met in person at the distillery. I think the man who gave our tour was named Colin, and we very much enjoyed the tour and learning about The Dalmore. We purchased some whisky as well as a beautiful decanter and some other glassware. We enjoyed our visit very much!

We arrived a few minutes before 5 in the afternoon just before closing and were still greeted with a smile....we did get a chance to quickly see the distillery and also got a chance to take great pictures outside of the production plant....to the entire team a great big thank you from all of us...I know that our guide Kevin from K&S Travel had a lot to do with it but truthfully the Staff at Dalmore was incredibly welcoming...once again, thank you

Birthday outing

Following a short email booking,
Taking the public bus from inverness, it was a short walk along a straight road.
Mine the road way entrance if walking foot path could be improved.
The staff very inviting, But the direction signs were lacking some what.
Showroom very nice an clean.
Well laid out,
The tour was informative, not robotic as some seem.
Testing the goods following the tour, I was expecting a little more to get my test buds going,
But settled for the Port Wood and a 12 year old.

Shop assistant knew her whisky and very informative.
Dont take a taxi, can be very expensive, get the public bus every hour or so to return to Inverness. Check the time tables.
Short half day out,
But found a new whisky for my collection

Smaller distillery, great tour
Sep 2019
Dalmore is one of our favorite whisky, and the tour was exceptional. The backstory of the stag motif was fascinating and the grounds were charming. One of the best stops on our multi-day 5-distillery tour.

Somewhat underwhelming
Sep 2019 • Couples
The distillery is just off the A9, and is reached via a curved sealed driveway. The shop/tasting room is tiny, and it relies on the staff serving there to provide information and history. Tasting is available at 5 pounds a glass. Few visitors, and no real atmosphere, or visitor amenities.

Well worth a visit

We were just passing and thought it would be rude not to pop in and say hello. Fortunately they could accommodate us on the next tour, and I’m so glad they did. Bruce, our guide, was so informative and knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions that I bombarded him with. Highlight was most definitely going into one of the warehouses to see all of that fine whisky maturing. Bought a bottle of Port Wood at the distillery shop afterwards.
