About
Come on a private Alpaca Trek in the beautiful Morayshire countryside. You'll learn about alpacas and their fleeces, and you and "your" alpaca will go on a gentle walk around the farm, through woods, past a lochan and then you'll finish with coffee and cakes at the farmhouse ! We have an Alpaca Farm Shop too. The whole activity lasts for around three hours. Pre-booking is ESSENTIAL for Alpaca Days Out. Alpaca Treks are suitable for over 14s only, and for groups of between 2 and four people.

Cuteness and Great Information All in One Stop
This in depth private tour spent with Carole and John and their adorable alpacas will be a memorable one for anyone who loves alpacas. They shared so much with us about the care, breeding, and the personalities of these animals. Unlike some other alpaca tours, these owners want your experience to be natural in that they don’t bribe the alpacas to come to you with food. If the alpaca wants to interact with you they will let you know. Leading the alpacas on a stroll was fun; Carole’s cake and tea after the tour was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with them during our 3 hours.

A great day out, would recommend
I recently visited this Alpaca farm with 3 friends. Carole and John were both very friendly and informative and clearly loved their alpacas of which they had 61. We stood in a field with the alpacas and learnt so much about them. We then got to walk them through the woods. The whole experience was 3 hours and enjoyed every minute. The day ended with delicious home made cake and refreshments. I would thoroughly recommend taking this tour

    Delightful Afternoon in the Highlands
Our time at Carole and John’s farm was a truly enjoyable experience that my fiancé and I will never forget! Spending time with the Alpacas and learning about their behaviours and each animals unique qualities was peaceful, informative, and a great use of our time spent in the Elgin area. We both learnt a lot about the science of alpaca breeding, the animals themselves, but also the challenges and pleasures of their life on the farm. Carole and John were some of the kindest folks we’ve ever met and we felt honoured to have spent an afternoon with them. Carole and John’s hospitality meant the world to us and it genuinely felt like they were happy to show us their home and ultimately their passion for the beasties. The tea, cake, and conversation were each thoughtfully tailored to Kiran and I, and the cozy warm hut beside the warmth of a fire warmed up our cold wet limbs but also our souls. Thank you Carole and John for such a wonderful experience. Yours, Kyle and Kiran

What an amazing afternoon we’ve had with Carole and John at Auld Mill Alpacas!!! What a fun and very friendly experience we’ve had! It was amazing getting to see the alpacas and llamas and being able to find out so much about them!!! And getting up close and personal and getting to walk them as-well!!! With a delicious homemade cake too 😋! Highly recommend a visit!!!

We had a fabulous experience learning and meeting the Alpacas and Lamas, John and Carole were the most friendly and accommodating hosts during our discussions and trekking with these lovely animals.
Their care and love for these stunning Alpacas and Lamas are second to none in the most tranquil surroundings they can provide for them.
Had a lovely fly cup with the John, Carole and Bill and Carole's home bake cake topped off which was a very special day for us.

I would highly recommend the visit to the Auld Mill Alpacas experience.

Had an absolutely fantastic afternoon with the alpacas and llamas. Enjoyed every minute of it. We met the alpacas and Carole and John were so informative and very obviously care so much about the wellbeing of their animals. The trek and coffee and cake were all excellent. Can’t rate the experience highly enough.

We had a fantastic afternoon meeting the Alpacas (Along with some Llamas and Goats) interesting to hear about the animals and their care.

The trek was superb and we had a great time walking the grounds with the alpacas.

It was great to have time to enjoy some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings with the Alpacas.

Carole, John and Bill were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home and comfortable.

To top it all off the cake and coffee in the Barbecue House was exceptional.

We would highly recommend as a different sort of afternoon out.

A fabulous afternoon meeting Carole, John, Bill and the wonderful herd of alpaca.

We spent time walking in the field with the main herd learning so much about the fleece, colours, breeding, feeding and everything alpaca!

We were guided on how to handle the alpaca safely and then walked through beautiful woodlands with Samuel, Peel and Munro.

The afternoon ended with a huge piece of lemon cake and coffee in the bbq hut with a cosy fire, cushions, rugs and great conversation.

Thank you again for a wonderful visit - highly recommended.

This is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The experience lasts around 3 hours and it is done at a very leisurely pace, if you have a frenetic lifestyle this is an excellent way of chilling and resetting. You spend about an hour in a field with the Alpacas before meeting the ones who will go trekking with, afterwards there is coffee and the nicest gluten free black forest cake I have ever had, thoroughly recommend this experience
