I first went up Schiehallion last autumn but did not reach the summit due to mist, rain and wind. Today was glorious sunshine so off I set at 9.00am (still plenty space in car park). This is pleasant walk with fabulous views. It's not so...More

We had the most amazing time. This was our first ever climb/walk up a mountain. The views were spectacular. The incline starts of quite light and does build up to feeling the burn (if you are a beginner at these climbs this is a great...More

Apparently Schiehallion is one of the easiest Munros to climb so we thought we'd give it a go. Easy to find and a good little car park, get there early though as gets full very quickly. Very steep initial climb before lovely walk up to...More

My first Munro. I found it hard going. We managed it in just over 5 hours. Personally I enjoyed the 'boulder mile' on approach to the summit. You can kid yourself into feeling like a proper mountaineer. Great sense of accomplishment when you get back...More

Parked at the Forestry Commission car park and followed the traditional route. Boulder field at the top does last for some time but the views from the top were magnificent

My first Munro, which was somewhat spoilt by the " Boulder mile " near to the summit. We had great September weather, about 15c, almost no wind , and enjoyed the challenge until we met the boulders! We were well equipped with quality hiking boots,...More

This is quite simply a great walk. Of course it's not the easiest, it's a mountain after all, but it's perfectly doable for someone of average fitness, as long as you have the right footwear (obviously). We did it at a fairly steady pace and...More

It's fairly straightforward but please don't be complacent. If not prepared and if weather closes in it can be a bad place to be. Take food and water. Park in the carpark and a fairly good path takes you 3/4 of way up. Last mile...More

Left the car park at 7.30 am raining and surprisingly cold for 2nd of July, no problem was ready , the bolder field as you get higher is neither fun ascending or descending, weather closed in up top, and I'm not great with heights, got...More

This was an easy walk, near the summit were fields of quartzite boulders where the trail was hard to see, but the occasional cairn keeps you on the up and up. Trail was easy to follow downhill. Total trip about 6.5 miles, I finished in...More
