Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A magic holy place with very caring spiritual staff. We had my mother-in-Law Pamela Rybicki's ashes scattered here. Father Charles Corrigan presided over the service so sensitively and warmly. He blessed holy water from the sacred spring and supported us scatter her ashes at the holy cross garden at Saint Mary's Kinnoull Monastery. Pamela had stayed at the monastery on retreat previously and found solace in the beautiful setting being welcomed by warm and spiritual members of the team at Saint Mary's Kinnoull Monastery.

I stayed for a week in September and would recommend it to anyone whether of Faith or Non Faith for a most wonderful and restful place to be.
But just if it is a one or two night stop off then just drive a quarter of a mile past the Soulless Travelodge and enjoy a warm and welcoming stay ; a wonderful lunch and evening meal without having to go out and find places to eat ; lovely garden walks and breakfast before You Go.
Newly refurbished and warm rooms all with en-suite facilities and full wheelchair access.
I have no personal connection with The Monastery and post this only to pass on the experience that I have had there for others to also benefit from.

I decided to visit St Mary's monastery because at one time it used to be the Noviciate for the Redemptorist Order. In the 60's I attended the Redemptorist junior seminary in Birmingham. During my time there I decided that I did not have a vocation to become a priest and left. St Mary's at Perth would have been the next stage in my vocation and I have often wondered what the place was like, so in August 2019 I finally went to the monastery. I was not disappointed. This is a holy place but also friendly and relaxing. During my two night stay, I did participate in the community services, but that was my choice and there is nothing to stop visitors from pursuing their own itinery whatever that may be. The rooms are well equiped and the meals were first class. The grounds are extensive and beautiful and I would recommend a walk to the summit of Kinoull Hill. The views are breath-taking. The staff and the clergy are friendly and approachable and you more or less have the run of the whole building to explore, if you wish. The visitors were an eclectic group of individuals; participants on one of the residential courses offered, some on a personal journey, some seeking peace and reflection and others there just to relax and take stock.

I shall certainly be returning to St. Mary's in the future

We stopped to have a look at the architecture of the building when one of the Fathers stopped and gave us a interesting history of the place and invited us in to see the chapel which was beautiful inside . It was built by Architect: A. G. Heiton (oratory) and
Andrew Heiton, Junior 1867-97. The order is Redemptorist monks .

Wonderful facility, from the comfortable en suite rooms to the kind and helpful staff to the simple and plentiful food to the gorgeous grounds that lead up onto Kinnoull Hill. I was there for a self-directed spiritual retreat arranged with a group of friends, but the centre also runs courses and takes solo retreatants.

Since a youngster, I have been familiar with the monastery and its community members. It is a wonderful place to get away from it all now and again. Lovely grounds extending onto Kinnoull Hill for long walks.

I enjoyed my stay at this establishment. It was very peaceful. Rooms had not long been given an upgrade so were very comfotable. and bright. Food was also very good and plenty of it.The gardens were really pleasant to walk about in and you could always see a gardner most times keeping it tidy and nice. I think it is a very lovely pleasant place to stay for a break if you like peace and quiet as I do. I would certainly recommend it as a great place to stay and I would be quite happy to visit again.

This course gave an deal opportunity for rest and renewal. I needed it badly but did not really understand this until I arrived . For me it was the ideal length and the ideal time, neither too long or too short. It was well structured so that I was mentally occupied, and it touched on areas of study last visited almost 40 years' ago. I really came in the dark, not knowing what to expect. But I felt privileged and happy to have been there. I was unique in the group of 21 people in that I was going directly back to work, so my departure on December 7th was just right, with the Christmas period just coming up. I treasure my time in the Kinnoull Monastery very much. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful Monastery and grounds, and a very warm Redemptorist community. Great food too for retreatants! And just minutes away from Kinnoull Woodlands for long walks.
