- Pricey2512Long Melford, United Kingdom420 contributionsAmazing experience, a lovely teacher and a fun coursePraveen & Swarna are a lovely couple and delighted they are running such a great business, the concept is great and my partner and myself really enjoyed the class hosted by Swarna who was informative and a very good teacher, the good we cooked was delightful and although I have cooked a lot of Indian food over the years this top it to another level. I’m working my way through the recipes which are included. A super day and I can’t recommend the experience enough… enjoy!!Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 December 2022
- Sophia L5 contributionsThoroughly Enjoyable Day!Had a throughly enjoyable day at the cook school. There were 11 of us and we all had an opportunity to try our hand at cooking some delicious dishes. We learnt all about spices and how to blend them into the Curries. A really informative, fun day. Swarna with her humour, knowledge and expertise made it a really memorable event. Thank you.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 19 January 2023

- LangToonTravellerAuchterarder, United Kingdom76 contributionsInformative, enjoyable and tastyHad a great day at the cook school with Swarna and Ross. I now feel much more confident about using spices and preparing the dishes that we learned about. The whole experience was very relaxed and we had the opportunity to taste our results over lunch and had plenty to take home. One small bit of feedback - it would be helpful if the recipes on the website could be updated to better match the food that we prepared on the day. It is difficult to remember everything! Would definitely recommend.Visited February 2023Written 9 February 2023
- 136lynne96 contributionsGreat Cultural DayWhat an amazing day, such a great experience. Swarna was such a great Teacher and held our attention the whole time. I can't wait to start trying out all my new recipes.... who knew that you needed so few spices and seeds to make the most amazing food ever.... yes I bought the Spice Tin as well as some Tamarind and Poppadoms, but that was my choice and no pushy sales needed.Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 18 February 2023
- Ian F5 contributionsOutstanding ExperienceOutstanding experience. Learned a lot and had a really enjoyable time doing so. Swarna is a first class hostess and teacher. She engaged with everyone and kept energy in the kitchen from beginning to end. I received this as a gift and wasnt entirely sure about going as I was worried I was too inexperienced and would be out of my depth. This was not the case at all, and I discovered the course is possible for all abilities. I shocked myself by making some properly delicious food! Ross the KP was a fabulous help and that meant no veg prep or clearing up and Swarna could focus entirely on the class. And what a great bunch of people from all walks of life with Swarna encouraging everyone to chat over lunch with a beer. All in all, I have had a great day and left feeling enthused about trying it for myself at home. Superb job Swarna. Thankyou! IanVisited March 2023Written 2 March 2023

The class was well designed beginning with making your own lunch and then following up with prepraing your take-away dinner. My wife and I attended the course and had a great day learning the techniques and recipes for a huge range of dishes. We prepare and cooked a salmon dish in the morning to eat at lunchtime, and cooked a chicken Buna in the afternoon to take away with us. But that's only a part of it! There was raita, spicy onions, onion pakora - the list goes on! What a great day highly recommended.

Fun class, really interesting learning how the spices we used are made on the family farm. Really good basics of Indian meal prep. Lasted longer than the specified finish time so had to leave early but didn’t miss much. Looking forward to trying the recipes out!

Had a great day of Indian cooking, with well organised demonstrations and practical support, class was well paced, nice atmosphere and lots of hands on work to help consolidate the learning. Great food to eat some soft drinks and wine or beer also on offer. What a great way to learn more about the spices we were using and where they came from, the photos and video make it all the more personal. If you get the chance I would recommend taking part, it was a gift from friends and I really appreciate the gift.

An amazing experience from start to finish, our host was very welcoming and explained all the dishes well, telling us where they came from and the real meanings of the names of the dishes we were preparing.
The pace was just right, questions were encouraged and answers explained so well.
We cooked and ate a delicious lunch and we’re encouraged to pack up any leftovers (or should that be jalfrezi?) to take home.
I had an amazing day and would recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food, even if you have never cooked before you’ll finish up with some great food to take home and show off to your family or friends.
Great value for money and an amazing setting. We’re definitely going to try the restaurant as it will no doubt be amazing too.
Thank you for an amazing day.

This was a great experience and Praveen was incredibly informative on every aspect of each ingredient including spices and herbs. She was extremely, patient, encouraging, complementary and amusing with each of the 10 attendees.

We bought each other this experience as we both like to cook and try out something different. It was a great mixed group of people and Swarna was an excellent and fun teacher ! The work stations were all prepared for us and it was a good mix of hands on and watching and then eating at lunch break ! We both enjoyed the fun element but also the food we brought home ! Thoroughly recommend 👍

I’d received a voucher for a class before Covid and had forgotten about it. I found it in a drawer and, when I phoned up, they said they would allow me to redeem it, which was great.
Swarna Was a brilliant teacher and the whole day was fun and educational, with a good bunch of people. It was a mix of individual and communal cooking which was lovely, and the food tasted brilliant. It will expand my cooking repertoire to include South Indian dishes. Highly recommended cookery course.

Just home from an amazing day at the Indian cook school. Swarna was a great host, who shared her story of how her & her husband met and their journey together.
Plenty of information on the spices and their benefits and surprisingly how little you need to make a really flavourful dish.
Lots of hands on cooking aswell as demos from Swarna. We ate what we had made in the morning for lunch and then what we made in the afternoon we took home.
At the end you can buy spices that have actually been grown by Swarna & Praveens family in India.
An absolute must for anyone who enjoys cooking and Indian food
