Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Park was great and very busy.
However the out door toilets were locked. Which was very disappointing.
For all we were buying takeaway ice cream and drinks from the cafe. Was challenged by staff in cafe for trying to use the indoor toilet. Was told the toilet was for sit in Customers. I explained that it was my 3yr old that I was taking to the toilet and that we were purchasing food and drink from the takeaway counter. However this didn't seem to matter. The staff member still continued on about us not being customers. I am really disappointed and disgusted about the whole situation. I would not recommend the cafe.

Went for a walk with my son here earlier today (yesterday now), trying to teach him the basics on his balance bike.

Lucky weather wise, we strolled up the path on the Glasgow Road side and around to the walled garden, before heading down towards the loch. There was what appeared to be the remains of a Children’s Railway about halfway down the hill - whether or not it still operates is beyond me.

Anyway, the loch was small but plenty of birds (mainly Swans) around to entertain the kids. We popped into the park for half an hour - divided into two areas (adventure and play). A decent park overall - I expect it’ll be a lot busier in a couple of months time.

I’ve written a separate review on the Cafe. However, an enjoyable 2-3 hours spent at Barshaw (Strava clocked the walk around 2km, if following the outer paths).

Yesterday my wife and I had lunch in the Wheatleys Cafe in Barshaw Park and it was very nice. My wife had the Club Sandwich and I had the Steak Pie, both were ample portions and well presented. The tea was hot and fresh and the cakes were nice also. Staff attentive and it got very busy too! Well worth a visit.

Had some time to kill whilst my daughter did a workshop nearby. It was 28 degrees to took my son here for a picnic. They’re 2 play parks. One for toddlers and one for older children but not really big enough for my 12 year old. There’s also an outdoor gym and a pond. There was a fayre when we were there so my stuff n enjoyed that. There’s big grass areas where we played football and frisbee.

Kids had a lovely time at the playpark and enjoyed watching the ducks and swans in the pond. We visited in Winter but will definately be back in the summer.

Fantastic Park with a big play area for kids. Boating Pond and Model Railway. Such a shame the mini zoo closed down as this was one of the best things about the park.

An OK park where a lot of children families visit. Can be very packed during the summer. The local golf course is OK.

The animals (along with the ones in Robertson Park, Renfrew) have now been found new comfortable homes. Still a great park though...with wonderful views, pond (40 swans, 20 ducks and numerous terns) to utilise your stale bread.

Don't do landfill, do bird-fill.

Great for the kids, especially impressive play area. Used the BMX track and managed to get my grandson used to the slopes and speed of the track
