Very good selection of fiction books available in this library which I use regularly. The non fiction section is not bad but the highlight is the local history area upstairs which has Tom Barclay an expert on Ayr and Ayrshire history in charge.

A great relic of the era of industrial "benefactors". Lovely architecture. A great shame most of the other Carnegies have been destroyed. This functions well as a library of course, with lots of separate sections and space for temporary exhibitions... 🤴

I go here regularly with a class of children. Staff are always friendly and helpful and never complain when given extra work to sort out mistakes.
