One of Ayr's oldest pubs and conveniently situated near the mid to top of the High Street. Conveniently split into two units to separate dinners from the Public bar. Lots of atmosphere, good food (pub grub) and friendly staff. Ideal place for lunch or just...More

What drew us in was the thatched roof, it's not something you see everyday, and what a find for us, nice clean friendly, well run, with attentive staff, this place can be busy.tasteful decor.

Passed by the Tam O'Shanter which is great from the outside with double frontage and the thatched roof, a blast from the past. Beers are good with a good selection and the food looked good as well. The whole ambiance of the place has been...More

Stopped in for a few pints - really friendly staff and excellent prices and selection. Good food menu - try the Mince and tatties! Steeped in history if you're a Robbie Burns fan too! Just a bit of a challenge finding parking in the area....

Cosy and steeped in history as the name suggests, staff pleasant and the place was busy so it is well frequented by the locals and visitors alike. Clean and tidy and good choice of beers.

not sure, I think they have some reasonable IPA beer, but the rest is standard, such as McEwan's Tennant's etc.
