Ayr beach front is a well-kept area and the Scots mile walk, marked out with footprint signs each quarter mile, is a good flat walk along a concrete path with great view of the sea. You can also detour onto the beach which is also well-kept and generally clean. Great place for walking and blowing away the cobwebs.

Great and relaxing walk along the beach on a dry day...it's easy and flat, ideal for a family day out with kids playing area and restaurants. Highly recommend.

A good distance to walk the dog, and the nice thing is that you know exactly what distance you have walked before you have that well earned cup of coffee

Great place to run or walk. The mile.which is on the pavement at the sea front, has signs every 1/4 mile so if running you can do a bit of interval training if you are feeling energetic!! Beautiful beach with a huge expanse of sand and perfect for dog walking.

This is such a great idea and encourages people to walk along the front . Loved the information boards though they need updated looking a bit weathered but they are on the seafront that's always going to be a problem. Such a lovely walk on a dry sunny day along the promenade watching the waves on the sandy beach.

If you are looking for a nice walk along the beach, this is the spot to go. There are a variety of touristy games and quick food places along the way but the real attraction is the water and the view. A nice spot for an evening stroll!

What a lovely walk along the beach this is on a nice day the only thing that spoils it is the cyclists who seem to think that its perfectly fine to zoom by you without a thought for anyone but themselves there is a perfectly fine cycle path but we were yet to find someone use it I wont be... More
