Located 1km away from the Kandy-Dambulla busy road. Very different from all the temples you will see in Sri Lanka. Very quiet place (3 people in the site when we came) and a very serene atmosphere with the beautiful lake behind. Definitely make a stop...More

If you are near Matale and you have some time, drop in for a quick visit to this ancient Hindu Temple. Entrance is free and it only takes a few minutes to check out. Also, there are some friendly dogs in the parking lot if...More

We stopped for 45 min at this dite on the way from Trincomalee (via Dambulla) to Kandy. This is one of the most well-preserved sites we saw in Sri Lanka. Not large but really beautiful with all carvings in stone still visible! It is only...More

This temple was recently cut up into pieces and moved to higher ground, where it is now, otherwise it would have been at the bottom of the reservoir that surrounds it. A beautiful, very old temple, this is worth a small detour to see. Set...More

A great example of South Indian style architecture in Sri Lanka The building was moved to its current location to save its loss in the waters of the nearby reservoir
