Get to Lunda somehow! The island of puffins, hundreds maybe thousands of them hop about. They are not afraid of humans and you can get fairly close. They bear their offspring underground but live on the water when not raising babies. So they live on land, sea, and air - incredible. I doubt there is anywhere else in the world like this.…

A wonderful trip of the weather is good. Caught the Oban to Mull ferry, then a bus to Portree. From Portree I boarded the boat and travelled to the Island of Staffa and saw Fingal's Cave. From there it was onto the Island of Lunga and the Puffins. A great day out for £72 which included all transport from Oban and return. Will do it again next year.…

We went ashore from a Silversea cruise, using their Zodiacs. The landing was tricky and we had to climb up a medium rock face but were helped effectively by the crew . Lots of photo opportunities and a birdwatchers paradise. A lovely visit but wear warm clothes and hiking boots.…

What more could you want,an island full of wildflowers and Puffins. Took a trip with Staffa tours, very good lots of time on the island. You do need study shoes, the moving pontoon in the water, plus the huge rocks on shore make it difficult. Also you then have to climb a steep cliff path up to the Puffins. Not everyone on board was able to do it. Lots of other seabirds but Puffins were amazing.…

Fabulous, well worth a visit to see Puffins and other sea birds. But be warned you need to be able to scramble off the boat onto the moving pontoon and then make your own way over the slippy bolder ridden shore. Then there is a steep scramble up to the plateau to the puffins burrows. Well worth the visit.…
