We booked Lamont for a whisky tasting day trip and we left him to make all the arrangements. He did a great job of fixing us up with two distillery tours as well as a further 2 distillery shop tastings. We had to make some last minute arrangement changes for lunch and Lamont sorted us out nicely. We were a family group of 5 adults.
Lamont is a great driver and makes a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide, we can't recommend him highly enough.

Lamont was an incredible tour guide and made our trip to Islay perfect! He was quick to respond, flexible with any schedule changes, and is a great story teller. I would definitely refer him to anyone visiting the island and I will miss his hilarious stories!

Excellent professional service from booking to drop off. Lamont and family offer an amazing service, with comfortable transport around Islay and Jura, complete with all the local knowledge and jokes needed for an amazing tour of the distilleries and beyond.

We booked 2 days with Lamont, and enjoyed every second of the experience, from his local knowledge of the island and the sites, his candid banter and his superb impersonations. We ended our holiday with amazing memories, some amazing whisky, and more than a few new laugh lines. Lamont was fantastic in ensuring we had time to visit all the places we had picked out (even if they weren't in the most logical order) as well as providing great recommendations on other sites to see and places to eat and drink. Will be booking well in advance for our next visit to secure his services again (I'm still not Australian though Lamont, no matter how many times you insist I am 🤣)

Needed a short taxi journey and managed to get Lamont and it turned into the most fantastic full day as he offered flexibility to help get us around the island. He is full of knowledge about the island and its whiskey.
It is also like being driven around by a stand up comedian and he offers great value for the level of service provided.
Highly recommend, be sure to ask him about his time as a Spanish Ambassador.

Should that not be sit down comedian? Aye we had a great laugh and nice to meet folks with the same sense of humour.
Hopefully see you back on Islay soon, until then ....

Don’t hesitate to book! From first contact Lamonts communication and flexibility allowed us to not only see all of the distilleries and landmarks we had on our wish list but also several that lament suggested and went out of his way to show us during the day even going over the agreed time to ensure we got to see the best of the island, in his words ‘were no slaves to the clock today!’
When we got back and looked on the map we realised we had covered the whole of Islay during the tour and went to places we simply would not have found or even known to look for!
Lamont has encyclopedic Islay knowledge and is a local landmark in himself known to all .... ahh lament the barman said back at the hotel I went to school with him ....
Lamont makes sure each second of the tour is entertaining and informative and has a sense of humour and delivery akin to an Islay Billy Collony with stories and jokes that will keep you smiling and laughing all day and the type of glove box that will keep any whiskey lover happy and sated between distilleries!
The time flew and his company is easy. I don’t normally write reviews ... I normally only write a couple of sentences..... I have just wrote more than I did in my GCSE English exam ! Praise indeed!

We were very happy that we had booked Lamont to be our guide on Islay. Very good and friendly service! He picked us up from airport promptly and everything was well organized.

We very much enjoyed our 2 day tour in January 2020 on Islay. Lamont Campbell was an excellent communicator from first contact til airport meet. He suggested a two day tour which hit my smoky favorites and allowed me to find some new favorites too! We flew in from Glasgow and were met by Lamont who introduced us to his brother Peter. Lamont offered us the airport pick gratis and with Peter's help we enjoyed a seamless transition from the hustle and bustle to a slower pace on Islay. Peter was very genuine and professional and a pleasure to hang out with for two days. He seemed to know everyone, told some great stories and offered interesting local information. Peter picked us up promptly at 9am and dropped us off much happier around 5pm. We enjoyed tastings at 4 of the 8 distilleries, had lunch at well picked venues and Peter did a great job of answering tons of "tourist" questions. He did not mind pulling over for photos, stopping for highland cows and was good at spotting the local deer and birds. The cars used by Peter on the tour were comfortable, clean and pre-heated before we got into them each day! One could tell that Peter was proud of his island home and showed us as much as possible in our short stay.
All in all it was a most excellent holiday spent with a friendly professional guide/driver. I highly recommend Islay Whisky Tours and Bowmore Taxi Service and Peter Campbell. I rarely give 5 star ratings however Lamont and team earned it!

They are the best!! The driver was professional and a true jewel. He’s from the island and so had some very lively antidotes to while away the time between destinations. This is the best way to see the island especially if driving on the “wrong” side of what I thought of were One way roads when you’ve had a fair amount of good whisky isn’t your cup of tea!!

We arrived to Islay on a weekend without having made any local transportation arrangements--Lamont &co rescued us at the airport and helped us get everywhere we needed to go during our short stay with warm hospitality and local color.
