Our excursion with Lewis was the highlight of our trip to the Outer Hebrides. We would highly recommend and plan to go on another day trip with him the next time we're back in the area. His trip was fully customizable to our preferences. We were interested in a mix of fishing and sight-seeing, and he balanced both perfectly. He took us to spots where he knew from experience that we might have good luck catching a variety of fish, seeing seals, and seeing a rare white-tailed eagle. Lewis was also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and the ecosystems. He was able to answer all of our questions, and even gave us great recommendations for things to do during the rest of our trip. 10/10!

Unfortunately we couldn't get a trip booked as the boat was on a commercial charter however Lewis was able to recommend another operator so we didn't miss out. He also took the time to share his knowledge and experience of shore and fly fishing to enhance our stay in the local area. A true gent, I really appreciate the information and hopefully can get on one of his trips in the future.

Lovely boat. Amazing tackle. We caught so much fish. Mackerel, pollack and crab. The fish itself would have cost the same price in a supermarket as the cost of the trip. Such good value for money. The trip to the fishing site was awsome and beautiful. Our host was knowledgeable and absolutely charming. We really enjoyed his company and he made us feel so special. My daughter Oona and I agree this is the best highlight of any holiday we’ve had.
I couldn’t recommend this boat trip more.

The couple of hours we shared on Lewis' boat were simply stunning. Not only is he a keen skipper/fisher/fotographer - he really respects and loves the loch, the animals and their natural habitats. We were lucky enough to see eagles feed, watch seals play - and catch some fish. All this to much welcomed Information about what it is, that we are witnessing. And last but not least - it seems that Lewis loves what he is doing. So it's not just a case of him taking people out on a boat - but an invitation to share his passion!! Thanks a lot Lewis - we'll come again!!

My husband and I took a trip out with Lewis about 4 years ago and had such a brilliant time that when we came back bringing our daughters, I absolutely knew that they would have to experience it too. Lewis is so knowledgeable about all the wildlife and fortunately for us, we had one of the few sunny afternoons in late August. We saw so many amazing birds and the white tailed eagle came and took quite a few of the fish we had caught. There were quite a few great skuas who swooped down and almost took a fish out of my daughter's hand. We saw seals, caught mackerel and saw the largest crab imaginable. I cannot begin to recommend this trip highly enough. No trip to the Hebrides is complete without a couple of hours on Lewis's boat and his delightful company.

At 20 weeks pregnant, I wasn’t allowed to do the rib boat tour my husband and I had originally planned. In search of a bigger boat suitable for pregnant women, my husband found Lewis and Fish ‘n’ Trips, and I’m so glad he did! What a remarkable experience! Lewis is extremely knowledgeable about wildlife and all things aquatic in the Outer Hebrides. We got to view a salmon farm and experience wildlife first hand. Some of the wildlife included 2 eagles, multiple skua (and feeding the skua), a dolphin, a seal colony, razorbills, and guillemots . My husband even caught 2 mackerel! Thanks for everything, Lewis!

We had a wonderful time and Lewis really is an excellent guide and a very nice and interesting man. We went on his boat through beautiful bays, with little green islands and cliffs all around us. Lewis showed us ( and explained) the salmon farms, the mussel farms, and then took us on a boat ride to observe many young seals laying out on rocks. Nature at its best! We then had a wonderful time with mackerel fishing - our 9 year old daughter had a great time and we caught lots of fish (Lewis cleaned the fish for us, so we had lots of excellent dinners). P.s. we kept a few for the older seals in the harbour. Then Lewis showed us many different seabirds ( we fed some fish to them), and we saw 3 white tailed eagles! Two adults and a baby eagle, who was just standing on a little island very near us. Amazing! We also went to check his lobster cage in the Ocean and freed the lobster that was in it since it was too small. All of this in only 3 hours. You can not miss this boat tour!

This was absolutely the highlight of our 7 day tour of the Outer Hebrides. Thanks so much to Lewis for providing us with a great trip out on his fabulous new boat. Our 10 year old son caught his first few fish, (which were thrown to two white tailed eagles - amazing to watch) my husband caught a huge pollock and I was delighted to catch some mackerel. We had so much food we had to share it out when we wild camped up on Cliff beach for the night.... If you’re only going to do one thing whilst visiting Lewis then this is it. Expect to see lots of wildlife, catch fish and be engrossed in Lewis’s stories of local life and wildlife. Absolutely first class and totally deserving of 5 stars.

Just to let everybody know that the reviews do not do justice to the whole experience provided by Lewis , with his knowledge, enthusiasm, love of his work and pride in his heritage and work. Incredible to see the sights and animals and fish even on a relatively grey day in August. Just topped off our week at Keose , even if it was at the start of the week. Thanks again Lewis

Lewis is knowledgeable, interesting and helpful as a guide. He makes sure everyone achieves their aims. We saw two white tailed eagles and caught a variety of fish. At the end of our trip we were lucky enough to find crab and lobster in one of Lewis’s pots.
What more could we have wanted?
Many thanks, Lewis.
Highly recommended.
