A really fabulous half-day spent with Kevin, everything was super-organised, but also very flexible with our family of 5. We totally lucked out with the weather, very small winds to start, but then completely glassy towards the end of our kayak. Kevin was very careful to make sure we made the most of our time on the water, visiting the waterfalls and coral island and we also spotted an otter from a distance. We had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to kayak in Skye.

Kevin and Janni have a great set up at South Skye Seakaying. Their gear is top notch with really good wetsuits and toasty warm overpants, tops and booties - plus paddle mitts to fend off the wind. I paddled in a lovely late model carbon fibre sea kayak. Very comfortable. We scored a great day weather wise and explored around Loch Eishort. Kevin was super organised and efficient, getting us geared up and selecting a top spot to take advantage of the weather conditions. I would highly recommend South Skye Seakaying- fun, safe, exciting, and very well organised. Absolutely great value for money.

My husband and I had 2 days on a Skills course and 2 days on a Full Day Sea Kayak Tour - both intermediate level. Impressed from the start by the quality of communication. Then thrilled with the fantastic composite kayaks we were given. And it wasn't just us - everyone got a top-of-the-range boat. It was so good fitting the boat properly. The coaching was excellent and we learned many new skills - being carefully stretched outside of our comfort zones. This was all topped off by sublime scenery - caves, waves, rock hopping, arches, cliffs, and waterfalls. What a treat! Already planning our return. Thank you, Janni, and Kevin

It was great to have you both along for such a varied 4 days of paddling. There will never be a lack of new places to experience or re-visit some of your favouristes, in very different conditions.

Had a great time on the 1/2 day trip, would love to go back for a longer trip. Kevin our instructor was great, welcoming encouraging and engaging pointing out the local wildlife and points of interest.

We had a truly amazing half day introduction to sea kayaking with South Skye Sea Kayak!! Kevin was a great instructor and had us on our way in no time but feeling confident and safe. We had fantastic weather and the truly majestic scenery here looks even better form sea level. We can’t recommend this highly enough and will be back!

We did the morning kayak session. Fantastic scenery including seals and even a close sighting of an eagle on the rocks. Kevin was great and made us all comfortable and ensured we spent maximum time on the water. High quality kayaks and kit also contributed to a great experience. Highly recommended!

Staff were really helpful and picked us up from the hotel as well as dropping us to catch the ferry afterwards. My first time sea kayaking and it was fantastic, great coastal scenery and blue sea, we saw seals, and the staff also took nice photos which they sent to us after. A great afternoon 5 stars!!

I did an intermediate paddling course with South Skye Sea Kayak which lasted over 4 days. Between them all they have a wealth of information which they are happy to share with you. One of the highlights of the course was the 30k trip to Macleod's Maidens, with Angus. We also did some rock hopping and cave exploring and some short towing. Each day we were taken to different locations. The weather was mixed. Certainly, on the first day, we were tested with learning how to turn into and downwind in Force 3/4 winds a great experience and I felt totally safe in Janni's hands. Janni showed us how to plan a trip using wind and tide charts. Kevin took us to Glenelg where we learned about reading the tides and eddies; how to go from still to moving water and how to make it work for you. I will definitely be returning and after I told members of my club about it they are keen to go next year as well.

Really relaxing trip out on a loch - we saw seals and birds as well as various underwater creatures. Kevin is a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide and managed the perfect balance of doing a bit of kayak technique while never being overbearing and allowing the maximum time on the water. Booking was super easy via the website and the team provide everything you need. Highly recommended.

My family - 2 teenage boys and us - had a great half day out with Kevin. He was able to quickly assess our needs and skill and to keep everyone happy and engaged. He has a lovely manner, was patient and knowledgeable re wildlife and history, as well as being able to share about life on Skye and the surrounding islands. Was also really impressed by how well organised everything was at each side of the kayaking including getting our fleeces rinsed and dried for us afterwards.

Hi we are a family of four- 2 adults and 2 children (7&12). Can we do sea kayaking as beginners? Do we need to be experienced swimmers? We would like to do on 21st August. Thank you.

Hi. We would love to take you out as a family. You don't need any experience or need to be good swimmers. You just need to be fit and confident near the water. You'll find answers to all kinds of questions the FAQ page on our website and you can also check availability online. Hope to see you soon.

Hello. I am just wondering if you have any availability for tomorrow. It would be for myself, partner and dog. I have a trainee assistance dog (Emotional Support in a Special School) that will have a unique role. I plan to take her away next year with a group of pupils on an adventure holiday canoeing on Windermere. She would be required to accompany the children on a canoe so she requires some practice first.

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. We have been exceptionally busy these last few weeks. Unfortunately sea kayaking is not suitable for dogs, as there is no space for a dog. there is only one seat and all hatches are firmly closed and air tight. Double kayaks are also not suitable for a dog, as they depend on the paddling activities from 2 persons. Maybe you can have a look for a provider offering canoeing or sit on top kayaking.
