Skye is a gift that just keeps giving. We pulled up to photograph The Old Man but didn't get out due to torrential rain. Still, that provided us with some amazing photographs that don't do it justice. If it was a decent day and we...More

Pictures don't do it justice. Take your time and walk around the small paths to each side of the Old Man for even better views.

Made a trip here from Portree and although a cloudy day still worth seeing! There is plenty of parking along the road besides the small off road parking lot. Nice hiking trail with an initial steep climb that soon levels out.

It was my trip to Isle of Skye and finding "Old man of Storr" in the top 10, decided to make a stop over. It was not at all disappointing - view leading to Portree and then the road that lead to Storr has amazing...More

Having heard so much about this landmark nd seen tv of climbers, it was great to see the old man in person. We did not make the hike but just taking in the view from the car park was a special experience.

Parts of the track are quite steep, but we all managed to do it okay, given we are all 60+. The track itself is quite long but you can easily decide when you have seen enough, or think that it is becoming a bit too...More

We did not climb it... didn't want faeries turning us into stone. But we stopped and had a look and heard the story. It's very pretty.

My wife and I just went up today. It took her 1.5 hours return at 72 and not a hill walker. For me it is 1.25 hours.
