So sad, 14 years ago this play structure was amazing.... I took my now 18 year old there many times when she was little. My 5 year old was so excited to play there yesterday, he ran excitedly ahead of me and climbed on with...More

This beach has a safe swimming area that is full of fish, good for snorkeling! Restrooms, showers and picnic areas are clean and in good repair. Nice mix of people, couples, families, pets, it's a great park!

We felt obligated to check out other beaches, we made our way up to Ke'e and Annini as well as Poipu but to be honest we could have saved some gas money and just stuck to Lydgate. I'm glad we went to Poipu because that...More

The cove at the beach is protected by a wall of rocks. This fish can still get in, but the waves stay out (mostly). -My kids got very comfortable snorkeling here, especially knowing there wouldn't be any sharks in the cove :). Once they mastered...More

This was a beautiful way to experience the coastal waters in relative safety. Kauai's waters can be strong and scary. This protected place also has information boards so your kids can learn about the sea life in the area. We're going back at the end...More

Really nice swimming area with an artificial rock barrier that separates the ocean from the swim area. Snorkeling was good especially along the rock line - lots of different fish to be seen.

I arrived here and immediatley was disapointed. there is no way there is going to be any fish in this sectioned safe area of swimming. But I begrudgingly tried, and to my amazement it was great. Schools of dinner plate size blue fish, several other...More

After having spent a few stressful days arranging and attending a funeral, Lydgate Beach was the place to unwind. There was the protected pool area, seemingly fenced off by big black rocks, that many of the little people in our family headed for. There is...More

This is by far one of the most beautiful places on Kauai to watch the sun rise! You can go to most places on the beach and have it completely to yourself! The waves were quite beautiful, too!
