About
Mizen to Malin with Wild Atlantic cycling is an end-to-end bike tour of Ireland. Think of it as the Irish equivalent of Britain’s Land’s End to John O’Groats, but with rugged coastline, Irish music, unique landscapes and lively pubs. Ireland's end-to-end really is something different.

My wife and I completed the Mizen to Malin with Wild Atlantic in 2019 on our tandem. It was a memorable trip for many reasons. Paul Kennedy ran a very well organised trip for well fed guests and with the supplied bike GPS the route went extremely well. Paul was very accommodating for us having a tandem rather than single bikes. The scenery is fabulous all the way - sea, mountains and countryside. The roads are friendly and pleasant to cycle and mechanical support was always close if needed. Overnight accommodation was fine and there were always fine Irish pubs nearby for dinner and Guinness. The other riders on the trip were all good company both when riding and in the pub in the evening. We love Irish music (and watching Irish dancing), and there were often opportunities in the evening to hear and see both from high professional by Riverdance stars to very informal in pubs or in the street. We highly recommend the trip - if you are not into real high pressure cycling do the 12 day (we did) - it is still a challenge with considerable climbing, or if you want a real challenge perhaps the 7 day version. We have no reservations recommending it.
We cannot chose the correct date so though it says July 2020 it was July 2019.

My wife and I chose this as our second honeymoon, celabrating 10 years of marriage. We are both keen but very much leisure cyclists and had never done anything like this before but jumped in with both feet.
We emailed and spoke with Paul beforehand who reassured us that the tour covered all levels of ability, and no one is left to struggle to keep up.
Our group was about 25 people from the UK, America, Canada and Australia both solo, couples and group cyclists. Some people were experienced cyclists and some were like us, doing this for the first time. The great part was that everyone was really friendly and supportive, and there was no elitism. We all enjoyed the cycling and (by the end) all suffered the same bum-fatigue, and sought remedy and exchanged experiences in the hotel bars in the evenings.
The hotels were a delight, and to be honest better than we would have paid for ourselves. Breakfasts and daytime coffees and lunches were excellent and very well organised, considering the size of the group and having to adapt to the changeable weather.
Paul and his support team of Brian and Julie were fantastic guides and hosts who kept us laughing and rolling on. It was the ride of a lifetime (12 days) with such great companions and guides. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company. Our final endorsement has to be that we're rebooked to do the Northern Ireland ride, and have a very interested eye on the Spanish Pyrenees.

OK, I’m a little late with this review but looking forward to getting back on my bike on the Wild Atlantic Way again is what’s getting me through this bizarre winter. I did the trip in September 2018 with my adult daughter. I ride a lot but this was her first extended ride and she did great. We chose the 12-day version, opting for more time to see the sights and to spend in the various towns (and pubs…). We’ve got a few more people coming along this next time, hopefully this summer (fingers crossed).
I’ve been to Ireland a number of times and thought I had seen the country but this trip showed me how wrong I was. Paul and his mates have researched every inch of this ride and have found simply amazing routes and the best ways to see the country along the way, some places I never knew existed. There’s no way you’re going to find these roads on google maps! I’ve used many different resources to try to find hotels and B&Bs in the West of Ireland before but it was always hit or miss. Paul is able to book the absolute most comfortable in every town we went to. The support he and Stephen provided was flawless, we never felt alone even being thousands of miles from home. Plus from our own experience and from reading some of the other reviews it seems this tour attracts quite a fun and interesting group of people.
We crossed paths with a few other groups of riders with other companies and could not have been happier to have chosen Wild Atlantic Cycling. The others seemed to be tour companies that created just another route to sell. This is the route that created WAC and you can feel the difference.

I can't recommend this highly enough - Paul and his team arranged a fantastic trip for us in 2018 with great cycling, accommodation and routes. Having someone transport your bags each day and provide morning tea and cakes in beautiful locations, and be on hand at lunchtimes is fantastic and helps promote and develop the really friendly group spirit we had all week.
I hope to do more tours with Paul and his team - just need to find time!

This has to be one of the best routes to do Ireland end-2-end, if you are not obsessed with taking the shortest route, which I know is quite boring.
Incorporating parts of the Wild Atlantic Way does exactly that and takes in some of the most stunning scenery in the west of Ireland.
This event is very well organised, with the ideal group size, so you get to know everyone over the duration of the ride. You can expect all sorts of weather, glorious blue skies, torrential rain (sometimes) etc, but the real Irish hospitality makes it all worth while.
I think a key factor is that the tour is run by a couple of experienced cyclists, so they know what will make it work, even though they have a tendency to build in a couple of extra hill climbs on days when you just want to get to the hotel and have a pint.
We had people from about six different countries in our mixed group, some ex-pro riders, some novices and most of us good average cyclists. You will naturally find a group that cycle at your average speed, so don't worry about getting left behind.
It is a good challenge, so do put in heh miles in the saddle beforehand if you want to enjoy it!

What a beautiful country and a great way to experience it.
The tour was well organised right from the start being picked up in Belfast .
The support was excellent with plenty of food breaks each day in lovely settings.
Our overnight stays were well situated with plenty of variety for evening meals .
A bit thanks to Paul and his team for making it such a memorable trip.
Can highly recommend Wild Atlantic Cycling

Two friends and I went on the MizMal 7 day cycling tour up the west coast in June 2018. We wanted to go to Ireland and found Wild Atlantic after an internet search. Their format was the best for our needs. Plenty of cycling each day with sights along the way. Hotel accommodations were comfortable, and a bargain, given the total cost of the tour. On clear days we enjoyed great lunch stops at parks or places with great views. On rainy days (we had 3 wet days, but only one with rain all day) , Wild A provided an indoor lunch arrangement, usually at a Pub, so that we could dry off. The group dinners were very fun, and the nights on our own allowed us to visit the pubs before (and after!) eating. The group size, about 20, was good. It did take a few days to get to know everyone, and everyone was enjoyable. The staff was competent and helpful.

MizMal-End to End Cycling Tour, up the West Coast of Ireland, completed the 14 day tour in July 2019. Superb is the only word to describe this Tour. Paul and his team take care of every detail to make sure the trip meets high expectations.
I enjoyed every minute of this cycle tour. The routes are well planned, taking you through stunning landscapes, and to beautiful destinations at the close of each day.
Lots of laughs and fun along the way as you get to know your companions, even though you don't all stick together or ride at the same pace, there is plenty of opportunity to share a coffee stop or lunch break with the other cyclists. Then there are the evenings. Grab your swim wear and head to the beach to jump some waves, explore tiny coastal villages and county towns, and meet up with others to enjoy a meal and a Guinness or two. Hotel accommodation is good, comfortable, and bikes are securely stowed each evening.
The sense of achievement at the end of the tour is one I will always treasure. I will definitely be back for more tours with this team.

Always wanting to do a long distance cycle over a number of days I was put of by the amount of work required to plan such an event. The transportation of baggage/spare kit, organizing the accommodation, food stops and all that is required to complete a such a challenge. All this and more was managed efficiently and professionally by Paul and his team at Wild Atlantic Cycling Tours. With expert guidance from start to finish Wild Atlantic Cycling Tours really makes this achievable for the all capabilities be it novice or pro. I have had the pleasure of completing two trips with these guys and will indeed be back for more.
