Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

We are regular visitors since we purchased our Fota card. The new Asian area is fabulous and we still enjoy the older part of the park. As we are in Ireland we go in all weathers, but boots and cosy coats would be recommended! The animals feeding times are fantastic and we try and see the cheetahs being fed in... More

Enjoyable afternoon with the family. Best to go with warmer weather as there aren't many shelters available. Great facilities overall

Spent the day with a friend in the park and it was highly enjoyable. Easy to access, we took the train from cork took 20mins and literally drops you off at park. Its worth noting though the station is very dated and to go back toward cork you have to cross an old steel bridge. There is no elevator or... More

Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon just wandering around the park. It is great how close that you can get to the animals as you wander around. Each area is well signed so you learn about each animal as you pass.

We were there in November. The tiger has so little space...a pain to watch him, just circling around... Cheetahs have not much more space either. One of the new sectors is just so rough, not pleasant to your eye, steel, and cement. it will probably improve over the months but...

I was here on an educational trip from my college. It is one of the best-maintained wildlife parks I have seen in recent years. This animal collection is exotic. It is a place worth visiting. Best place for Day out.
