Relax afterwards in the café and browse the gift shop which overlooks the courtyard. This iconic venue is also available for private functions and events. The GPO Museum is a must see while in Dublin, such an important part of history. There are numerous displays which are well laid out and a huge video screen shows the story of Easter 1916. It is amazing to watch and realize you are...More

The post office itself has a beautiful interior. The exhibition is located in the basement and features artefacts, films and interactive displays covering the 1916 Rising and the period through to independence and the civil war. Back upstairs, somewhat awkwardly placed in the cafe (perhaps...More

Good to get some history back ground on what is an important time in the history of Ireland. The post office on it's own is a very nice building.

Loved this museum. Informative films detailing the struggles - unfortunately we visited late afternoon and so weren’t able to spend enough time listening to accounts. The GPO building has been beautifully restored.

Apart from its history the building is quite terrific. Still see the damage and wander inside and see what old banks and post offices used to be like. Amazing this place has survived.
