    A wonderful, in-depth view into Dublin's stories
We did a tour on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Our tour of the distillery was with Kelly and then we did the tasting with Darragh. It was the most informative and interesting tour I've done in Dublin and as a local, I've done most of the distilleries and tours! This is by far the most I've learned. We ended up staying on in the bar and having a great chat with the Darragh, and learning even more! You can really tell he is passionate about his job. If you're looking to learn the true history of Dublin, this tour is brilliant and the whiskeys are delicious too! Couldn't commend the staff any higher for the excellent job they're doing.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and found it informative and engaging, I'll be sure to pass on your lovely comments to the team. All the best The DLD team

Kelly - a superb ambassador for Liberties!
Outstanding tour with the very engaging Kelly who was a superb ambassador for the distillery. She was as educational as she was entertaining and real craic. Liberties was only set up in 2019 so is a relatively new kid to the block of the Irish whiskey renaissance but one with an independent and feisty spirit…..no pun intended! Nice post tour tasting and even got a little badge afterwards! Definitely a must visit if you’re in Dublin.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and found it informative and engaging, I'll be sure to pass on your lovely comments to Kelly our local historian. All the best The DLD team

    Great tour, fantastic guide.
Great tour that was about an hour long, short enough for the kids and packed with plenty of tasting samples. We got an in depth knowledge of the distilling process and incredible amount of local knowledge and history from our guide Kelly. The board room was a great setting to do the tasting. This tour and atmosphere provided by Kelly was fantastic and far better value for money than more recognisable global Irish whiskey brand's tours. I'd highly reccomend doing this tour.
Hi, Thank you for your 5-star review, I hope you enjoyed your time with us and come back again, we'll pass along your compliments to Kelly. Best regards The DLD Team

Dublin liberties distillery is absolutely worth a visit, but you may have tour fatigue if you try and tour every distillery in dublin in a couple of days. Dublin liberties doesnt need a tour, you can go upstairs to their bar and have a tasting, which i highly recommend. They have a very interesting bar set up and they have a lot of product to try. The staff was all very friendly. Anything you enjoyed can be purchased in their gift shop downstairs.

The Dublin Liberties Distillery is a hidden treasure! Not as widely known as Jameson or Teeling, however, this was a gem of a distillery and experience! Relatively new on the scene, however the experience was second to none and the staff make it truly special. Kelly our guide was just 3 weeks on the job but AMAZING!!! Having done many Whiskey tours on our trip, we still managed to learn new things on this tour. Kelly’s passion for history shows and she has truly embraced the Irish Whiskey history as she shares the story. This distillery has deep stories behind their individual brands and Kelly is the perfect storyteller - ask for her!!! The tasting room and bar is a phenomenal space. Kevin is the barkeep and he was super friendly. We spent almost an hour conversing with him and trying different whiskey drinks at the bar. Ask him for his local recommendations in town – not the touristy ones but the true local spots. His recommendations totally changed our view and experience of Dublin. Fergus seemed to run the operation there – classy gentleman and has put together a phenomenal team and experience – best in the Liberties!

I visited in June 2019 and when I returned in February 2020, the barkeeper Ben instantly pointed out he’d seen me there before. For me it kind of sums DLD up, a place you can visit many times and perhaps make your little spot in the Liberties. This time around I did a tasting and also tried their most expensive whiskey, The King of Hell. Brought back a distillery exclusive bottle and two other, Copper alley and The Oak devil. Really recommend this place and if you read this guys, you truly are grand and I’ll see ya again!

Wow, I loved hanging out here for a bit. I can not speak to the tours but I would recommend heading up to the bar to speak with the amazing guys upstairs. Since I am a bit of a whiskey snob it was great to speak with them and watch them make new drinks (experimenting with New Make in an Old Fashioned when I was there). The whiskey is above average and I found myself craving the whiskey finished in Coffee Stout, sounds odd but is was delicious! My only complaint is that I wished I would have bought more than one bottle (I NEED more!). To top everything off, my 18 month old daughter was having a little bit of a meltdown towards the end of our stay here and one of the amazing girls downstairs came over to talk with her and gave her a flower. She perked up right away and I was able to snap one of my favorite pictures of our trip. Thank you Dublin Liberties for memories I will never forget!

The whiskey is delicious! We did a tasting and not the tour. Filipe was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He told a story of love and life through the four different whiskeys we sampled, all of which were unique and complex. While I'm not a big whiskey drinker, my husband is and loved it. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely loved this experience! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and they obviously take huge pride in this upcoming distillery. The building is beautiful and has been restored with great attention to detail. Our tour was led by AJ who oozed enthusiasm and was extremely knowledgeable both about the history of the area and the process of whiskey making. I loved the fact that she was from the Liberties area and so brought a real personal touch to the tour. AJ was particularly encouraging of my son’s obvious interest in whiskey and cocktail making and told us many interesting and entertaining anecdotes; all in all a fantastic visit.

Very authentic tour, saw the mashing, the fermentation vessels and the stills. We went on a Sunday when they weren't operational, but on any other day they would be working. There were only six in our group. Kelly was very knowledgeable. Tasting good too. A very different experience than the Jameson tour which was basically a video and a tasting.

I was in town for the Ireland-Scotland Six Nations game with my father and brother, and the day before we visited the Liberties Distillery. Our guide Miriam was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained all about the history of the distillery and the local area. The three tasting samples were an ideal start to the weekend! I would highly recommend a visit for a tour, and then hang around a while for some food and a few more drinks in the bar.

Great tour of Dublin Liberties Distillery today. Andy was a superb guide. We had a private tour (by chance!)and enjoyed every minute of it. We had plenty of time and encouraged to take photos and ask questions. Andy was a fount of knowledge, not only did we learn about whiskey distilling but we learnt a lot of the history of the Liberties too. Of course the samples were nice too! Thanks too to Liz for looking after us so well. The coffee shop is bright and spacious and the scones are gorgeous! Would highly recommend a visit there
