A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift's remains (he wrote Gulliver's Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

St. Patricks has combined old world beauty with modern technology. They have a great "interactive" area for children and have recently brought attention to WWI and its soldiers. It is beautiful and interesting. The employees are very nice and will answer questions patiently. Originally, the people I was with didn't want to pay (small fee) but left saying how worth... More

Wish the entrance was free! The church looks amazing from the outside and the gardens next to it are lovely!

Even though we arrived at the cathedral was closed, there was a lovely bell display and a relaxing park to sit in next door. Nice thing to go and see.

Historic, educational, with many exquisite stained glass windows. Allot an hour or so to walk from end to end reading the information plaques, examining the artifacts and absorbing the art.

I tend to visit a lot of cathedrals on my travels so St Patrick's was a must and didn't disappoint. Obviously on a visit you expect to pay to go in and I don't mind as it all goes to the up keep of the building, if anything I thought it would have been more expensive to get in. Very... More

Just to step foot in this cathedral left you with such a feeling of awe. It is quite a large church, and the sense of wonderment about it is palpable. I am not even religious and I enjoyed this place much more than I thought I would

Went for a service the Sunday we were there. An absolutely beautiful Cathedral...like nothing I've ever seen. The service was inspiring, and the choir (men/boys) was incredible. One of my fondest memories of our trip to Ireland.

As cathedral visits go, this was standard for the genre. The visitor is, essentially left to their own devices to wander, meditate and reflect on the centuries of history captured within the walls. But you have to do it for yourself - a few volunteer guides, strategically placed, might help here. It is historic, enjoyable and thought provoking, with plenty... More
